Meet our new parochial vicar, Fr. Frances Kim “I was born in Seoul, South Korea on October 03, 1968. I come from a family of five: parents, a brother and a sister. I am the eldest. My father 79 years old, and my mother passed away two years ago. They live in South Korea. I majored in Mechanical Engineering in university and got a degree for Engineering Science. Then, I became an engineer and worked for Mercedes-Benz in South Korea for four years. My field of work was certification and validation of the safety, test of the performance of the new model car, and overhaul of the safety. I enjoyed and liked my and made my career as an engineer. I became a Catholic at the age of 26, which was the turning point in my life. After I was baptized, I joined church ministries such as youth ministry, choir, lector, and Bible study, etc. Then, I became a youth minister. In 1998, when I was 30, I joined the Society of Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), and entered the Semi- nary in South Korea. I became a Salesian Brother and lived happy life as a member of SDB until 2009. I professed first vow for three years and the temporary vow for another three years. I completed seven years curriculum of philosophical and theological studies in the Catholic Univer- sity of Korea in South Korea. I wanted to become a missionary and work for foreign country. Then, a Korean priest, Fr. John Kim, who belongs to the Diocese of Camden, introduced the Diocese of Camden. And, the vocation di- rector and Bishop of Camden invited me to move and join the Diocese. I came to the US in 2010, and studied at St. Mary’s Seminary & University in for two years. And, I was ordained a deacon in December 17, 2011 and a priest in May 19, 2012 by Bishop Galante. I am very optimistic. I play some musical instruments: saxophone, clarinet, and guitar. And, I am a big fan of Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. I like to go fishing during summer and skiing for winter.”

Page 3 - 646 Coronavirus Prayer Lord Jesus, you heal the sick. We pray that the coronavirus that has affected so many in our world can be contained, controlled, and cured. We lift up to your mercy all those affected, all those working hard to study and cure this illness, and all health care professionals and emergency management teams that are working day and night to keep us safe. Help us, Lord, to trust in your merciful care. Lord Jesus, hear our prayer. Amen.

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.
