NORTHWEST EXTENSION PROJECT UPDATE MARCH 2013

BACKGROUND ROUTE MAP The Northwest Extension project will extend light rail on 19th Avenue from the current end-of-line at 19th Avenue and Montebello to Dunlap Avenue. This 3.2-mile project includes three stations at 7th Avenue

Glendale, Northern and Dunlap avenues. A park-and-ride facility is 31st Avenue 35th Avenue 27th Avenue 19th Avenue 15th Avenue 23rd Avenue planned for the southwest corner of 19th and Dunlap avenues.

In spring 2012, Valley Metro and the city of Phoenix approved the Mountain View Road Metrocenter advancement of the Northwest Extension from 2023 to early 2016. Mall Arizona Canal Construction is funded by regional Proposition 400 and local Phoenix Transit 2000 sales taxes. Operation costs will be funded by the city Dunlap Avenue of Phoenix.
