COVID-19 Safety Plan Guidelines DELE/CCSE/SIELE EXAMS

HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES AT NEW YORK

PROTOCOLS FOR CCSE and DELE (September 10th-11th), and SIELE (from September 21st)

CCSE - September 10th, 2020

General information and protocols:

If on the day of the exam or any days before, a candidate has any symptoms compatible with COVID- 19 or has been in direct contact with someone COVID +, we ask you to change your exam date by sending an email to [email protected] (on the day of the exam or before, never after the exam date in order not to lose your registration).

We also warn you to take into account NY state legislation regarding quarantines for visitors from other states.

A) Important things to remember:

- Only candidates will be allowed in the premises.

- Masks are required at all times, except when drinking water.

- For the benefit of all, at the entrance you will be required to use the touchless hand disinfectant dispenser and your temperature will be taken by our receptionist. If you receive a reading of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, you will have to reschedule your exam.

- Please be advised that we will also ask you to complete our visitors’ log with your contact information to carry out trace-and-contact procedures in the unlikely event of a COVID-19 outbreak.

- You should bring your own number 2 pencil and an eraser.

- Presenting your passport will be compulsory to take the exam.

B) Protocols step by step:

1. CCSE exam will take place throughout September 10th, in slots of 6 people every 30 minutes. You need to choose a time slot in the attached Doc.

2. At your chosen time, you will access Instituto Cervantes. As to avoid gatherings, please do not wait in front of the Instituto and just arrive at your assigned time.

3. Once you have entered the building you will have your temperature taken. If your temperature is 100.4 Fahrenheit degrees or higher you will have to reschedule your exam.

4. Once inside Instituto Cervantes, you will take the stairs and go down to the basement level, where you will have your passport checked and you will be handed your exam.

5. You will be assigned a seat where you will do the exam. Candidates will be seated as to keep social distancing between them.

6. Once finished, you will leave the exam where you picked it up and sign the attendance sheet.

7. To leave the building, you will take the stairs, one by one, to the ground level, and leave the premises.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the special circumstances that we are experiencing under this time during the pandemic, in the event that a candidate cannot attend the CCSE exam because they have a fever or they have been diagnosed with COVID-19, the candidate must make the request for a change of exam date and it will be changed to a later date at the same exam center. This needs to be done on the day of the exam or before the day of the exam. Under no circumstances will a refund be offered after that deadline.

1. You should arrive at Instituto Cervantes between 8.20am and 8.40am. As to avoid gatherings, please do not wait in front of the entrance.

2. Once you have entered the building you will have your temperature taken. If your temperature is 100.4 Fahrenheit degrees or higher, you will have to reschedule your exam.

3. A few days before the exam date you will receive an email indicating the classroom where your exam will take place. Once there, you will be assigned a seat.

- You can access the classroom by using the stairs or the elevator, but always on an individual basis. - You can only leave your seat to go to the toilet. During the break between part 2 and 3 of the exam candidates are to remain seated.

4. You should leave the building once you have finished the written exam. You can come back 5 minutes before your assigned time slot for the oral exam.

ORAL EXAM: A2

DELE A2 candidates who are applicants of Spanish nationality through Sephardic ancestry have two options to do the oral part of their DELE exam:

1. Do the oral exam in person, on September 11th between 1pm and 5pm. You will get an email a few days before the exam letting you know which time slot you have been assigned. This time slot cannot be modified. 2. Do the oral part of the exam online, in one of the available time slots, from September 15th to September 18th. In order to take the oral exam online candidates must meet these requirements: • Computer with Microsoft Teams installed, camara, headphones and microphone. • Good connection.

Please fill this Google doc before September 1st, choosing the option more convenient to you.

We remind you that the written part of the test is in person and will take place on September 11th at 9 am. You should have received an email by now explaining the protocols.

1. At the time of registration for the SIELE exam through its web page, you should have selected the center, date and time to take the exam among the options offered.

2. You should arrive at Instituto Cervantes 15 minutes prior to your assigned time on the day of your exam.

3. Once you have entered the building you will have your temperature taken. If your temperature is 100.4 Fahrenheit degrees or higher, you will have to reschedule your exam.

4. You will be directed to a class where you will take the exam in an Instituto Cervantes computer designated for this purpose.

5. You should leave the building once you have finished the exam.
