Drop-Off Events

The City of Waukesha has teamed up with Legacy to collect electronics and appliances from residents for proper recycling. These events are open to any resident from any community.

Saturday, April 3 9 a.m. to noon Enter at Saturday, July 3 9 a.m. to noon 600 Sentry Dr., Waukesha, WI Saturday, October 2 9 a.m. to noon

Legacy Recycling (262-930-4228) accepts electronic items banned from the landfill per Wisconsin law.

• TV’s ($25 per TV) • monitors ($10 per CRT monitor) • Mice • Fax • VCR’s • Printers • Routers • GPS’s • Scanners • Servers • Copiers • • Tablets • DVD players • All wiring/cords • iPods • game systems • MP3’s • Cell phones • Microwaves • Dehumidifiers • Refrigerators/Freezers • Air conditioners • Ovens/ranges • Water heaters • Dishwashers • Washers/dryers

NOTE: Certain electronics (including TVs) are banned from the landfill by Wisconsin state law – they should NOT be placed in the garbage or recycling at home or work. They need to be turned in for recycling at events like these! TVs and Electronics INSTRUCTIONS

Certain electronics (including TVs) are banned from the landfill by Wisconsin state law – they should NOT be placed in the garbage or recycling cart.

We do not have a pickup of TVs/electronics at households and we do not regularly accept these items at the City of Waukesha Drop-Off Center, except during our special event days.

Instead, residents should follow these options*:

1) For computers, computer parts, flat screen computer monitors, DVD players, VCRs, clock , and all other electronics which are not TVs or CRT computer monitors – these may be taken to community drop-off events, or to companies currently accepting electronics POSSIBLY including: Best Buy, St. Vincent De Paul, Recycle (Springdale Rd.) or the Waukesha Recycling Company (Tesch Ct.).

2) For TVs: a. Community Drop-Off events (Ask when next is scheduled) (There is a fee) b. Recycle Technologies (Springdale Rd. and Watertown Plank Rd. in Brookfield) will take TVs for a fee. Call them for current prices, location, and hours. c. Best Buy may accept TVs for a fee up to 32” screen size. www.bestbuy.com/recycling d. St. Vincent De Paul’s may take TVs and computer monitors for a fee depending on sizes. Call them for current prices, location, and hours.

3) For a pickup option at home, residents may try a disposal company like “1-800-Got-Junk” or “The Junk Shuttle” to come and pick up their items. Call local companies for current rates and more information.
