Bus Gate Relocations & Old Viaduct Closure

The Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) has initiated a $175 million rehabilitation of the ramps leading into the St. George Ferry Terminal with stimulus funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 under the direction of Federal Transit Administration.

Beginning 12:01 a.m. Sunday, September 12, 2010

Bus Gate A (currently providing service to the S61/91, S62/92 and S66 & S78 ) will be closed and buses relocated to Bus Station North (former college shuttle )

Bus Gate B (currently providing service to the S76/86, S74/84 and S51/81 buses) will be closed and buses relocated to the Taxi Stand.

Please see diagram on the reverse side to assist locating buses. Signage will be in place inside the ferry terminal and on the bus gates directing commuters to new locations. Bus gate rehabilitation is anticipated to continue for approximately one year.

This phase of work will also require the closure of the south half of the Old Viaduct (the current bus exit ramp). Pedestrians will use the opposite sidewalk to access buses and the ferry terminal. This closure will take place on Monday, September 13, 2010.
