COCONUT Gluten-free, vegan, dairy free, refined sugar free, heart-healthy

A traditional middle eastern made of and raw ingredients like coconut, sesame seeds and . Instead of refined sugar, I chose as sweetener. Instead of butter, I made this with heart-healthy coconut oil. Go ahead, indulge with this perfectly balanced sweet treat!

Ingredients 1. Grease and line an 8 x 8 -inch (20x20cm) baking pan 1/2 cup tahini with parchment paper and coat the top of the paper 1/4 cup honey with coconut oil. 2 tablespoons coconut oil 2. Drain the excess oil from your jar of sesame seed paste 2 teaspoons extract (tahini). Measure out ½ cup tahini into a medium sized 1/2 teaspoon sea salt flakes pan, over medium heat, add honey and coconut oil. Let Fold in come to a low boil and simmer for 2 minutes while 3/4 cup unsweetened, shredded coconut stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add in 3/4 cup unsalted pistachios, rough chopped vanilla extract and salt. Stir to blend. 1/2 cup sesame seeds 3. Fold in sesame seeds, coconut and chopped pistachios. 4. Scoop into the prepared pan and spread evenly over Makes 32 1.5 x 1.5” (4x4cm) halva parchment paper. Sprinkle large crystal salt on top. squares 5. Freeze pan for 1 hour or until set. Remove parchment from pan and set halva on counter for 10 minutes Enjoy at cool room temperature before cutting into desired sizes. 6. NOTE: I use coconut flour to coat the candies for a none stick feel.
