TRAVELLING INFORMATION Travelling from Europe to Freising, Germany

13th European Young Cereal Scientists & Technologists Workshop, German Research Centre for Food Chemistry, Freising, Germany, May 14-16th, 2014

The workshop will be held at the Kardinal-Döpfner-Haus, Domberg 27, Freising. You can reach Freising by air and by train.

 By Air

Franz-Josef-Strauß Airport, Munich (MUC) is located 12 km from Freising. It is served by almost every airline. ATTENTION: some low-budget airlines fly to Munich West (Airport Memmingen FMM or Allgäu Airport). This Airport is a 2 h train ride away from Freising. We strongly recommend not to use this Airport.

From Munich Airport to Freising train station

 By Bus Take the bus no. 635 to Freising , leave at Freising (final stop). There is a bus every 20 min and the journey will take 25 min. Just ask the driver for a single ride ticket to Freising (approx. 2.40 €). The bus leaves you at Freising train station, from there it’s a 10 min walk to Kardinal-Döpfner-Haus.  By Train We recommend you to take the bus, but you can also reach Freising by train.

Take the -Bahn S1 with destination Ostbahnhof and leave at Neufahrn. Change the Platform and take the S1 with destination Freising (approx. 5.20 €).  By Taxi Located outside the airport building, look out for the light yellow taxis. The ride to the Kardinal-Döpfner-Haus will cost about 25€.

 By Train

If you are travelling by train you most likely arrive at Munich Central Station (München Hauptbahnhof). From there the fastest connection to Freising is with a local fast train (Regionalexpress, approx. 25 min).You will arrive at the Freising train station, from there it’s a 10 min walk to Kardinal-Döpfner-Haus.

From Freising train station to Kardinal-Döpfner-Haus

 By Taxi Taxis are located at the main entrance of the train station. It will cost you approx. 6 € and will take 3 min.

 By Foot To get to the Kardinal-Döpfner-Haus follow the instructions on the map.
