STORE CATTLE AUCTIONEER MARK BROMELL

330 Cattle An outstanding day at Hallworthy with 330 cattle through the rings. Top call today going to GA Hatch of Launceston with his usual run of Hereford cattle, his first pair realising £1070 and a second pair to £1000. Close behind Mr R Hopper of with a powerful run of cattle to a top of £1060 for a single British Blue x Steer, his next pen of x Steers with plenty of scope to £990. JH Bolt saw his best of his super Dairy x Limousin cattle to a top of £985 for a pen of 4. AR Hooper & Sons of saw their first pen of Charolais x Steers away at £980 for a very classy pair of steers. Hiefers JH Bolt of topped this section with a wonderful pen of Limousin x Heifers with tremendous length and finish out of Friesian type cows to £925 and a second pen away at £855. George Cowling of saw his front end of a wonderful run of South Devon x Limousin heifers to £905 and another pair at £895. RG Nankivell of saw his first pen of Charolais x heifers with plenty of growth to a top of £885. Close behind Mr Hatch of Launceston with his Hereford x Heifers to £885. Younger cattle sold well with Mr P Jones of Bratton Clovelly with his run of 12 mnth old Steers to £885 for a Charolais x Steer and £850 for a pen of British Blue x Steers.

Stirks Mr R Quinn of saw his run of Hereford & British Blue x Stirks to a top of £485 and a second British Blue Steer to £480 with 2 Hereford Steers to £450. Grazing cows today saw 2 x 48mth Continental cows empty to £845 each. Breeders

2 Heifers & Calves today saw a top of £1000 for Hereford Heifers and heifer calf at foot.

Younger Cattle

A run of 30 suckler bred Simmental x calves from , West Cornwall from Mr Benney saw his top to £760 for the first pair; £730 for another neat pair of Red & White Steers and his best pen of 6 Simmental x heifers with plenty of scope to £685. Mr H Stephens of saw his best Charolais x heifer to £755 and a pair of British x heifers to £725.

SHEEP AUCTIONEER STEVE PROUSE 07767 895366 69 DRAFT EWES A flyer from start to finish, with the Ramadan fasting coming to an end, was seen up around £15 a head as the previous weeks and a lot more ewes could be sold next week. A much faster trade for all weights and an overall average of 250.30 was realised well within the National Trend. Top per kilo being 265p for a pen of Polled Dorset 40kgs from Mark Wise St Genny’s followed by 263p for 2 pens of 41 kgs £108 from George Williams, St Kew. Several pens £110 and £111 to a top of 112.50 for a pen of 44 kgs again from George Williams. 109 FAT HOGGS All the well fleshed Hoggs very much sought after overall average being 199.0p and a top per kilo being 214p for 2 pens of 43.5 kgs £93 from Mr J Small, Farm, St Columb. STORE HOGGS Small entry very strong trade with small framed Hoggs selling to £59.50 for Mr HJF Brown, View Farm, . COUPLES Just a handful on offer much sought after and more could have been sold singles to £166 and Llyn doubles to £181 all sold by T Hooper, Hay Loft, St Neot.
