This census is a first with the option to complete your entry digitally. Codes will be sent to all households. As participation in the census is a legal obligation, after the date for completion there will be communications and then some ‘door knockers’ encouraging completion – these will all be provided with PPE. 5 Update from Dr Garrod Surgery – Amanda Tamblin, Practice Manager Please see presentation: Appendix 3 – Vaccination update Update from Veor Surgery – Scott Bennett, Practice Partner Work on delivering the vaccine is going really well. Now formalised and secured the lease extension at St Breward so the branch will stay open and investing in repairs. In the process of applying for a dispensing licence in Delabole. A new website is available: www.camelfordmedicalcentre.co.uk 2 Information Classification: CONTROLLED 6 Question and Answers for Agenda items 3, 4 & 5 Business Support Grants: - when will businesses receive the Business Support Grant – explanation given for each of the grants. Census 21: - concerns with early entry and digital safety were discussed. - WI would like to assist with the process of helping residents to complete their entry and question regarding the support centre. Tina to share Heidi contact details with Steve Tina McGrath Simmonds, Forrabury& Minster Dr Garrod Surgery & Veor Surgery updates - Why are there 2 vaccinations systems with spare capacity at Wadebridge – steps put in place to avoid duplication and work on separate cohorts. -“ Thanks” were expressed for the Primary Care service providers and carers. 7 Update on A39 by-pass – Rick Clayton, Major Transport Scheme Lead, Cornwall Council Rick gave an update since the Cabinet report and outlined the next steps. Consultation letters will be sent to landowners for further discussions (virtually). Technical and environmental works are still ongoing. These will all feed into the report in the summer to form the planning application to be made in the Autumn. An outline business case will be submitted to the Department of Transport for review. Questions and/or comments: - Cycle track - Cornwall Council funding has been approved; central government funding is to be confirmed. - Build period is estimated 18 months - aiming to complete by summer 2024. 8 Update Town & Parish Councils Forrabury & Minster Parish Council: Neighbourhood Development Plan work continuing well. Funding of £5,000 was set aside for Covid support but as there has been support within the community this funding will now be used to encourage engagement with events/ community. Davidstow Parish Council: Busy with planning applications. ASB concerns Community Hall – currently reviewing 2 options. 3 Information Classification: CONTROLLED St Breward Parish Council: Carnival committee have decided not to go ahead with Carnival this year. Section 106 money and play equipment issues. Camelford Town Council: The Town Council has decided most of the events cancelled last year will also be cancelled this year – where events can take place virtually, they will continue. Camelford Place Shaping group are coming up with ideas for post by-pass. Work is taking place for a native wild area and hedgerow planting. Applied for a grant for an additional double charging point, along with a plan to increase other car park charging points. “Visit Camelford” has been launched to promote the town and encourage tourism. Online Council meetings have continued with 400+ views. Tree planting project is ongoing. Tintagel Parish Council: Youth club is coming back. 9 Cornwall Councillor updates Rob Rotchell CC Higher Culloden Farm have received a grant from the Woodland Trust to plant 1,500 trees towards the Forest of Cornwall. Volunteers can participate between 3 and 8 March. Meeting regularly with the local GP surgeries. Camelford Place Shaping is exciting. North Cornwall trail – covered by Councillor Fairman. Safeguarding issues. Support and thanks to be directed towards the social care carers. Barry Jordan CC Case work mainly planning. Supporting the Cycle trail work. Dominic Fairman CC Cycle trail – options of North Cornwall branch line and to continue the Camel Trail to Camelford have been suggested. Delabole to Camelford is being explored. Costs for a cycle trail are £1million per mile.     Extract from Pigot’s Directory of Cornwall, 1830 (pages 135‐136) Bodmin and Wadebridge Bodmin is a borough, market town and parish, in the hundred of Trigg; 234 miles from London, 62 from Exeter, 60 from the Land’s End, 34 from Falmouth, and six from Lostwithiel. It is situated nearly in the centre of the county, between two hills, and consists chiefly of one long street, running east and west. This town must at one time have been of much more consequence, and greater magnitude, than at the present day; for it formerly contained a priory, cathedral, and thirteen churches or free chapels, of which the foundations and sites of some are still to be distinguished. The present church is the largest in the county, and is handsome within, but externally irregularly built. The living is a vicarage, in the gift of Lord de Dunstanville; and the Rev. J. Wallis is the present incumbent. Here are three chapels for dissenters, and a free grammar school, founded and endowed by Queen Elizabeth. Bodmin must have been very early constituted a borough; for in an ancient record it appears that the burgesses were fined 100 shillings, in the 26th year of Henry II, for setting up a guild without a warrant. The corporate body, as created by the last charter, granted in 1798, consists of a mayor, 12 aldermen, 24 capital burgesses and a recorder. From Plymouth & SE Cornwall: Follow the A38 to Saltash then the A388 through Callington, then soon afterwards fork left onto the B2357, signposted Bodmin. (Or from Liskeard direction, take the B3254 towards Launceston, then turn left onto the B3257 at Congdons Shop.)     Forrabury & Minster Parish Plan Boscastle: The Queen’s Head and entrance to harbour. Photo provided by Jonathan Stirrup © Forrabury & Minster Parish Plan This Parish Plan, completed in April 2016, is based on the results of a survey carried out in December 2013. The first part of the report gives a summary of the findings and a commentary from the Steering Group. This is followed, from page 24, by the detailed results, as analysed by an independent person. When this survey was initially conducted 422 questionnaires were successfully delivered to members of the Parish community. Additionally 156 letters were sent to those with a residence in the village but who did not appear on the local electoral register for the area. The steering committee have attempted to be as inclusive as possible for the purposes of gaining a representative view of life in the Parish from as many voices likely to have an interest in the Parish as possible. 230 questionnaires were returned and 5 requests, as a result of the mailshot, were made for a questionnaire. This report is based upon the findings of these 235. Following completion of phase one (the collation of data) and completion of phase two (the completion of this report) 5 more questionnaires were returned that unfortunately have not been included in this report due to time constraints. Boscastle is an old harbour village in North Cornwall, notably famous for a severe flood in 2004. The Parish comprises Forrabury and Minster and Boscastle village as well as outlying areas as far as Slaughterbridge. A detailed image of the Parish and its boundary can be seen on the final page of this report.

    YOUR SUMMER Camelfordian JULY 2013 EDITORIAL I must admit that I had a job stealing myself from the sunshine to write this. I have been trying to grow my own fruit and vege- tables and have found it to be a little more complicated than “shove it in the ground and wait!” My dog has found a cool place to lie in my first ever attempt to grow strawberries and there are only four gooseberries on my prize bush. I shall look forward to harvesting my pea and broad bean in the very near future. I do seem to be very successful at perpetual spinach and lettuce but have managed to kill the mint. I find the biggest pleasure to be lying back with a gin and tonic after I have worked up a sweat and shall continue with this long after I have given up self sufficiency. Don’t forget that there is no in August so you must make this one last! WEBSITE UPDATE We launched the Camelfordian website for the announcement to appear in our June edition. It arrived a little before its time, but has been updated and hopefully improved. You can now click on the thumbnails to bring up copies of the Camel- fordian. Other hyperlinks should now work properly and there is music to accompa- ny some of the pages. It has been checked in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Google Chrome.
