Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 1 Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 2 Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 3  Marçà, DO Montsant, Catalunya, .  The area is located in the north-east of Spain.

 Spain Area of DO Montsant

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 4  Beautifull ancient vineyards from 35 to 80 years old native varieties: Garnatxa (Grenache) and Samso (Carignan).

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 5  Is based on the wisdom of the ancient vineyards of Garnatxa and Samso, and the old tradition of winemaking from the ancient vine growers.  Our knowledge to express the environment of these wild vineyards among the majestic Montsant mountains.

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 6  Acoustic wine, sensitive from the roots of these ancient vineyards.

 Expressing and reivindicating the quality and singularity of the traditional viticulture against the globalization of the international varieties and modern winemaking style.

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 7  It is possible to make fine and smart wines using the traditional varieties and expressing a unique singularity.

 Coming back to the traditional roots of the vineyards.

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 8  Old Garnatxa and Samso (Carinyena)  Poor stony soil, it makes the vine suffer having very low yield (15-25 hl/hect.)  Extreme weather conditions: very cold winter and dry hot summer.

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 9  Acústic cellar, an old cellar from the 18th Century with underground tanks used to make bulked wines 200 years ago, now they are aging our calmed acustic wines.

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 10  Oaky traditional pressing machine is used to preserve the quality and identity of the wine.

 The wine is racked by gravity to the underground tanks to keep the fruitiness of it.

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 11  Working on the vineyard.  Old vineyards were planted when vinegrowers used horse or donkey for vineyard labours. Now as they can’t be worked by tractor, labours are made by human work.

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 12  Acustic: 35 to 65 year old vines  Harsh and stony soils of sand, clay and rolling slay stones.  40 % Garnatxa (fruitiness, freshness and finesse) and 60 % Samsó also called Carinyena which gives colour, structure and black fruitiness to the wine.  Manual harvesting the grape when it is fully ripe and have achieved the complete tannin ripeness.

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 13

 Brao: “valour, courage, strength”. This is what I feel from these vineyards when I see them after 70 or 80 years they are still there, fighting against everything to offer their scare but unique fruit.  Made of Garnatxa and Samsó from 3 different states of 3 different areas of Montsant. The 45% Garnatxa gives fragrance, fruitiness and complexity to the wine; the 55% Samso gives colour, body and ripe berries fruit flavours.  Diversity of harsh and barren stony sandy with clay soils and also with rolling stones.  The altitude of the vineyards is from 300 to 800 metres.  No fining neither filtering to keep the natural expressivity of the wine. Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 14  Wine made from old vineyards in the D.O. Montsant .  Vineyards located in the villages of Marçà, Capçanes, El Masroig, , La Serra d’Almos , Darmòs , Siurana and between 300 to 700 metres of altitude.  60 % of White Garnatxa , 25% Macabeu , 10 % Pink Garnatxa and 5 % Pansal .  Natural label where there is a drawing which can be an acoustic instrument like a guitar or a chello or it can be a grape berry with the lines of a wine… depending on the acoustic feeling of oneself.

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 15

 40 Garnatxa , 40 % % of Samsó (Carinyena) and 20 % Pink Garnatxa .  20 % of the wine was fermented in new French oak barrels  Removing the lees for 6 months.  Natural label where there is a drawing which can be an acoustic instrument like a cello of the great music from my village Pau Casals or it can be a grape berry with the lines of a red wine... depending on the acoustic feeling of oneself.

Acústic Cellar, DO Montsant, Albert Jane 16  Wine made from 55-80 year old vineyards of 100 % Garnatxa  The altitude of the vineyards is from 300 to 700 meters.  The wine is the result of 100 % Magic Garnatxa.  Natural label where you can see something like an auditorium (amphitheatre) looking to the deep space feeling in spiritual balanced… depending on the acoustic feeling of oneself.
