Council Meeting Minutes: 08.03.2016 Memorial Hall 8.00 pm

Declaration AN, MP, PJ, DJ – Memorial Hall of Interest Minutes Found to be correct – AN & MP Matters Traffic Improvement – J McEvoy stated that the process has Arising now begun, the appropriate Dept has been informed regarding reducing speed limits down to 20 mph on routes from Coopers Hill round past the Church and continuing through to the junction near the Vicarage and from the bottom of Llandre Hill past the school Annual Meal – CS proposed and all in favour. Clerk to contact Railway regarding the evening of the 8th April. Bus Stops – MP reported on the condition of the sites owned by the Community, namely, Railway Bridge, Gwili Terrace, Coopers Hill and Nebo. All in need of some repair and maintenance. AN proposed and seconded by DJ that Hedydd Rees be contacted and requested for a quote for repairs. Hedydd Rees and MP to visit the bus stops and Hedydd Rees to submit a quote in time for consideration at April Council meeting. Penbontbren Wilderness – Clerk has contacted Arwyn Howells and described the desire of the Community to improve the ground. Clerk to contact Welsh Water regarding ownership of the ground and Arwyn Howells to discuss matter with other family members. Bridge and level crossing – IJ announced that the road through Bronwydd will be closed for repair work to the crossing and Highways consider that the bridge is wide enough for white lines on the road to be restored.

Risk Councillors received copies of the Risk Assessment Assessment Document that was presented to the Council at the 2015 AGM and consider it to be appropriate and sufficiently rigorous. PJ proposed and MP seconded Correspond One Voice – Local Liaison Forum meeting on 24 May, ence Clerk to attend Memorial Hall Trustees – decision to be postponed until next meeting, too many Councillors declared interest. Simon Hart and Superfast Wales – meeting arranged in on 06.04 to learn more about Broadband rollout in West Wales. Clerk and MP to attend. One Voice Wales – membership due. Clerk stated that membership was beneficial. Councillors agree to renew for another year Nantgwyn Public Footpath – path has been re-routed away from the yard; no objections to the changes. Code of Conduct – to be adopted by all Councils. DJ proposed and seconded by PJ

Planning Tractor Shed Glandwr – no objection Financial Translation, Trywydd £64.50 AN & DJ Matters Lighting and Electricity -£2,255.76 – DJ & PJ Clerk’s wages - £126.20 a £8.80 tax – PJ & DJ

AOB AN – Encouraged to hear about white lines on Bronwydd Bridge; what about the narrow section of road near St Celynin Church? IJ stated that improvements to that area would be done along with the traffic improvement plan PJ – None MP – Recent concert raised £1,400 for the Defibrillators. Suggested that the Councillors might consider applying for a Lottery Grant; all in favour of supporting the venture. CS – Litter picking; 16 – 18 people came along and gathered 20 bags of rubbish. Saddening to see the verges despoiled with more litter within a week…Village Voice soon to be published, items to be sent to CS by 28.03. Necessary to contact Simon Charles regarding pavements in the community. The road passing the Bryn in need of repair following rainwater damage. IJ – None DJ – None DD - None
