• String or • Tape • Tubular Pasta (Rigatoni Works Best) • Snack size ziplock bags • • Food coloring

1. string 2.5 feet long 2. Wrap tape around one end (This makes it easier for children to string and helps avoid it from fraying. Make the taped part just longer then the noodle length or else it’s too limp to string.) 3. Print off the information page (page 4), cut out the slips of paper 4. With pasta, you can dye it so it is more colorful. There are many different ways you can do it, but here is an example: http://www.cbc.ca/parents/play/view/ play_date_idea_pasta_necklaces 5. Make sure pasta has completely dried before moving onto step 6. 6. Place one of paper, one string and pasta in ziplock bags and close (Put enough pasta in for children to cover about ½ the necklace)

The early years are a crucial time in a child’s life, their brains are growing rapidly and they are learning foundational skills that will impact the rest of their lives. Much of this learning takes place while a child plays! We like to provide parents with activity ideas and supplies that they can do with their child to build developmental skills. This particular activity helps a child build Fine Motor Skills.
