Minutes of the proceedings at a meeting of the Sub-Committee held in the Council Chamber at House, , on Thursday, 14 December 2000, at 10.00 a.m.

1524 MINUTES

RESOLVED – That the Chairman be authorised to sign, as a correct record, the minutes of the meeting of the Sub-Committee held on 23 November 2000.

1526 APPLICATIONS FOR RECOMMENDATION TO THE LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY

RESOLVED – That the Lake District National Park Authority be informed that this Local Planning Authority is of the opinion that the under-mentioned applications should be determined in the manner set out below:-

7/00/5411 FELL: Cruck Barn, Thorphinsty, Cartmel Fell. Conversion of redundant agricultural barn to dwelling. REFUSE unless adequate dedicated car parking for two vehicles can be provided to serve this unit, together with a scheme for sound attenuation measures.

7/00/5595 LAKES: Ambleside Football Pitch and Pavilion. Use of Club’s facilities as tea room and car park for use by the public. (Ambleside AFC)

GRANT subject to:-

(1) No overnight car parking restriction.

(2) No hot food sales from the car park land.

(3) Adequate landscaping and, particularly, screening along the northern boundary and to consider the use of grasscrete.

7/00/5597 NETHER STAVELEY: Land adjacent to Gowan Bank Farm, Ings, Staveley. Installation of 1 No. 11.8m pole, 1 No. antenna and 1 No. equipment cabinet. (Orange PCS Limited)

Recommend that the Lake District National Park Authority pursues the option of mast-sharing in this sensitive location.

GRANT subject to local occupancy condition.

1527 LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY SITE VISITS

The Sub-Committee received an oral report on site visits attended by Members of the Lake District National Park Authority. It was noted that planning permission had been granted for one property on land at Station Road, Staveley, which was considered to be under-utilisation of the site.

RESOLVED – That

(1) both the Director of Amenities and Development and officers of the two National Park Authorities look into options to ensure that land is not under- utilised in future; and

(2) the report be received.

RESOLVED – That the report be received.

1530 APPEALS

RESOLVED – That

(1) the Director of Amenities and Development write to the two National Park Authorities and request that District Council Ward Members be kept informed about major amendments and planning enforcements within their Ward; and

(2) the report be received.
