WHAT TO DO Suggested two-day itinerary:

Day 1: Hit the highlights of Barcelona.

Option 1: Book (online) a full-day tour complete with a local guide. Consider Viator’s Best of Barcelona Tour. + Very convenient & efficient since your local guide will be driving you all over the city – Will cost you money Cost: Approximately €80 per person.

Option 2: Use the Hop-on Hop-off bus to get you from one site to the next. You can buy tickets directly at the buses at Plaça Catalunya. + You’ll still have some narration about the sites albeit not an actual person but just a recording – You’re limited to the HOHO schedule so you may have some wait time between sites/stops Cost: Approximately €26 per person

Option 3: Do everything yourself. + Cheaper choice since you can walk and/or use public transit – No guide or narration Cost: Approximately €10 for 10 trips using public transit (T10 card)

Whichever option you choose, consider this route:

1. Montjuic. Bring a light jacket if you’re coming early in the morning. It’s colder up the hill/mountain. 2. La Sagrada Familia. But tickets ahead or you’ll have to line up for hours to enter. 3. Tapas and cava tasting. Check out Cuisines Santa Caterina at Mercat de Santa Caterina. 4. Barri Gotìc. Keep an eye (and ear) out for Adrian Roman performing. 5. Park Güell. The walk up from the HOHO stop and public transit is VERY steep. Be ready. Merienda of churros con chocolate. Try Bella-Tapa—a stone throw away from Plaça Catalunya. 6. La Pedrera. See it also from the inside if you have time. And do NOT forget the rooftop. 7. Casa Batlló. Beautiful in the day, even more beautiful at night.

Day 2: Do a more immersive activity. For example, learn how to cook some of the best Catalan dishes. You can try Cook and Taste Barcelona. If you choose the full day activity, you’ll also get a tour of the famous La Boqueria. You’ll be very full after the cooking class so walk the length of La Rambla to cap your two-day visit.
