INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADMISSIONS

Admissions Instructions An international student seeking the F-1 student visa to attend County Community College must take the following steps to obtain the Form I-20 to begin the visa process. Documents submitted become the property of the College and will not be returned to the applicant, so please make personal copies of the documents before submitting. Please submit the following documents:

Completed two-page International Student Application, Pages 4 & 5 of this document (including academic major code and student signature) Completed, notarized Affidavit of Support, Page 6 of this document Official bank statement (from a personal account) confirming that funds are available to cover the cost of the first academic year’s estimated tuition, fees and living expenses (see International Student Cost Estimate, Page 3 of this document) Copy of high school/secondary school diploma/certificate of graduation (do not send original high school transcripts or diplomas to the College) Copy of passport photo ID page If transferring from another U.S. school: International Student (F-1) Transfer Request from www.dccc.edu/inter/transfer-request If under the age of 18 at the time of enrollment: Medical Release Form from www.dccc.edu/medical-release Copy of passport photo ID page(s) for any legal dependent(s) accompanying you to the U.S.

The College reserves the right to request an official evaluation report for educational credentials or original copies of documents, if needed, for verification.

APPLICATION DEADLINES SEMESTER DATES Fall semester – July 15 Fall semester – Mid-August to mid-December Spring semester – November 15 Spring semester – Early January to mid-May Summer ESL semester – April 15 Summer ESL semester – Late May to early August (Visit www.dccc.edu/inter for upcoming semester dates) TEST SCORES/TRANSFER CREDIT INFORMATION Although TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, and ACT scores are not required for admission, if you do have test scores, they may be used for place- ment purposes. Scores must be current within 5 years. See www.dccc.edu/international-admissions for more information. If you have attended college or university and have received college-level credit, you may be able to transfer credits into Delaware County Community College. See www.dccc.edu/transfer-in for more information.

HOUSING INFORMATION Delaware County Community College has no residence halls on campus, but many attractive housing accomodations are available in the local area. Obtaining housing is the responsibility of the student, not of the College. The Office of International Student Services is available for assistance.Visit www.dccc.edu/homestay for more information.

MEDICAL/HEALTH INSURANCE INFORMATION All international students at Delaware County Community College must have medical health insurance and evacuation/ repatriation coverage. The College enrolls all international students in a plan and bills students for the cost automatically. Students may wish to obtain their own supplemental insurance to increase their maximum total coverage. All financial obligations for any medical treatment are the responsibility of the student and/or the student’s family. 1 PROGRAMS OF STUDY AND MAJOR CODES

• The current estimate for one academic year of study is a minimum of $23,139 • This estimate covers 12 credits per semester in the fall and spring semesters, the minimum required for F-1 student status • International students may be eligible for select scholarships at the College, but financial aid is not available for international students • Payment options include credit card, cash, money order, personal check and wire transfer • Payment is due upon arrival at the College (during registration) • Most degrees require a minimum of 60 credits for graduation

If the sponsor is a family member or other financial sponsor, they must provide proof of available funds to financially support the first academic year at Delaware County Community College (see International Student Cost Estimate, Page 3 of this document). Please submit an official bank statement with this affidavit. The sponsor must sign this affidavit and have it authenticated by a notary public, bank official or other individual authorized to certify documents.

If the sponsor is a government scholarship or grant, you must also submit a copy of the official letter from the issuing department or ministry stating that you will receive these funds (the total amount must cover the cost of enrolling at the College). The letter must be on official letterhead from the issuing agency and include their contact information.

If the student will sponsor themselves, this affidavit is not required, and the official bank statement must be in the name of the student.
