The Holidays Have Come Home at Union Station ’s Historic Hosts a Line Up of Events for the Holidays

Denver, Colo. (November 25, 2014) - Denver’s Union Station is proud to announce the first holiday line up of events to grace the Great Hall since before its closing in 2012 for renovation. The festivities have already begun and the halls have been decked, check out the holiday line up this season and come warm up in Denver with your family and friends now through the new year.

November 28 – Denver’s Grand Illumination returns to Union Station Denver’s time honored tradition begins at the heart of the city. Join the Downtown Denver Partnership, RTD, 9NEWS and the LoDo District in lighting the lights of the city, then come in for a hot chocolate at PigTrain Coffee or a craft beer at Terminal Bar. The lights switch on at 6:30 with other exciting family entertainment including caroling from The Mistletones.

November 29 – Small Business Saturday Visit Colorado-curated retail stores in the Union Station including , Bloom and 5 Green Boxes. All Denver Union Station restaurants are Colorado owned and operated as well, including The Kitchen Next Door, Stoic & Genuine, Snooze, an A.M. Eatery and Mercantile Dining & Provision.

November 29, December 6, 13, 20 (Saturdays) – Santa’s Station 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Don’t worry about the line to see Santa, Denver Union Station will be offering a texting system so you can shop and explore the station while you wait to give Santa your wish list. For the last minute wishes, Santa will stop by right before he jumps in his sleigh on Christmas Eve, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Bring your own camera, no charge for photos, families can snap their own. Dogs welcome too!

December 5th, Repeal Day 4 – 5 p.m. – On the anniversary of Repeal Day, join The Terminal Bar in tapping Denver Beer Company’s Union Kolsch, a brew made especially for Union Station.

December 6, 12, 20, 23 – Meistersinger and other Carolers stroll the Great Hall Visit www.unionstationindenver.com for exact hours. New groups are being added all the time!

December 31 – Denver Union Station’s Bootlegger’s Ball A New Year’s Eve Party to change the way Denver does New Year’s Eve, visit www.unionstationindenver.com for details to be released soon.

Please note: Restaurants and retail outlets at Denver Union Station will be closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. PigTrain Coffee, ACME Burger and Brat Corp., MilkBox Ice Creamery, The Terminal Bar and Cooper Lounge will be open, please visit www.unionstationindenver.com for holiday hours in the Great Hall.

Denver’s Union Station is the “heart of the city” and Colorado’s transportation hub, the more than 100- year-old building was restored and reopened in July 2014. The Great Hall of the station features a beer garden, ample seating and shuffle board tables as well as quick serve options MilkBox Ice Creamery, PigTrain Coffee, ACME Burger and Brat and Fresh eXchange wraps and salads. The Terminal Bar serves 30 Colorado craft beers and upstairs on the Union Station mezzanine is The Cooper Lounge, set as an above-ground, exclusive speakeasy.
