All Night Learning 11:30 pm – On the night before the Torah was given the Jewish people went
to sleep. Though many lofty explanations are given as to why, we none the less have a need to rectify that act which we do by staying awake all night until dawn, immersed in the study of Torah. Some have the custom to recite Tikkun Leil Shavuos which consists of excerpts from every Parsha of the Torah, every book of the Neviim (The Prophets), and the Kesuvim (The Sacred Writings) as well as every tractate of the Mishna, Maimonides list of the 613 commandments and excerpts from Kabblah.
