Trip to -

Sophia, Nico and Vincent from Germany

Thursday, 20.09.2012 This is my story of the unforgettable days in Kristiansund, Norway. We went from our home- town Mering with the train to the airport in Munich. Our first flight this day was from Munich to and in Oslo we met our Polish friends. From the first moment we became friends and it was real fun at the airport. We stayed like 2 hours at the airport, and then we flew to Kristiansund. We landed there at about 6:30 pm. There I have met my host Ann-Mari. She was the whole time nice and friendly to me, so I want to say thank you again! The whole family was so friendly. When I was at her home, I unpacked my suitcase and then we ate dinner. There was a traditional fish, I forgot the name, but it was really good. After dinner I went early to bed because I was tired of the day.

This day I had to get up at 7 am, because I had to go to school in the morning. The school is very new and very nice-looking. It is about 100 meters from the sea away. This day I met all the pupils from the COMENIUS project. Guys from Turkey, Romania, Spain and of course from Poland. When we finished with school, we all went together to the town and the locals showed us the sights from this wonderful town Kristiansund. We went to the highest place in town, a tower and we fed ducks and we were in a shopping-center and could’t believe the high prizes in Norway. We had to go after a while, because we had to make some typical German food. Our teacher took something from Germany, so there wasn’t a problem to make it. In the evening we all met at school, because every nation had to make something special from his home. So the principal and the leader of this project gave a speech and then we all went to the dining room of this school. I’ve tried nearly everything and it tasted really good. We sat all together and it was much fun! After this event some of us went to a little party from a guy from Norway. It was big fun, the guys from Turkey were there, and the Spaniards. The evening was very nice and I went at 1:30 am to bed. The whole trip was really nice and I want to say THANK YOU TO AL

This day we had to meet at school at 9 am. The teachers of the Norwegian school had planned a trip to a cabin in the mountains with us. We had to drive about 5 hours by bus and when we arrived we luckily had really good weather. After we put our things in our rooms, we had some free time to go outside and to explore the area. It was so wonderful! There was a big lake just a few steps away from the cabin. At 6 pm we had to get to dinner in a separated house. First we had a really good soup and after that they served us fish with potatoes. For dessert they had made ice with strawberries. It was very delicious! After dinner we hat to present our presentation of our small Eden. We were the first and I think we did it really well even though we had to improvise. After us the other countries had to present their small Eden. It was really interesting because we learned a lot of things about other cultures and countries. After the last country was finished with presenting his small Eden we had some free time again. Some of us stayed in the room where we have eaten, but most of us go to another house where we were all together and talked. We got to bed really late. It was a wonderful day and I never thought that it would be so great up there.

Sunday, 23.09.2012

At this morning we had to get up at half past seven. We had breakfast at 8 am and after that we could decide if we want go hiking to another cabin or if we want to enjoy the little boats there. Vincent, Nico and me decided to go hiking. It was really cold outside, but the nature was so wonderful that we soon had forgotten the cold. We came back to our cabin at 12 am and at 12:30 we drove home again. We reached the school at about 4 o’clock and our host families have picked us. I was really glad when I was at my host family’s house and first I took a really hot shower. After that I slept for a couple of hours because I was really tired. In the evening we met at the bowling facilities and played for about 2 hours. After that we got to a restaurant and ate some pizza. It was so good! Unfortunately it was the last day for the Spanish and Turkish guys, because they had to fly back very early the next morning. It was really sad because they were so nice people and we have become really good frieds in such a short time. We came home at 11:30 pm and I went straight to sleep because it was such a tiring day.

Monday 24.09.2012

Monday was the day before we had to go home, so our Norwegian hosts gave their best to prepare this day. Only in this morning we had the opportunity to sleep more than just 5 hours because the school started not as early as on all the other days. At school I was in the history lesson, in the English lesson and I had sports. The English lesson was really nice because it was the only subject in which I could understand something. In sports I had also a lot of fun without any problems. At lunchtime we ate at the home of our host family. The mother of my host cooked just for me a Greek specialty and I have to say that it was really similar with the original.

After we finished eating we met the other guys of the Comenius project and climbed the highest mountain in Kristiansund. The climbing and the descent were a real adventure, because there were no prepared paths and we climbed the mountain without any protection. If you want to reach the top of the mountain you really have to climb and I’ve never done anything like this in my whole life but I loved it. It was more than just fantastic. After we had climbed the mountain successfully and reached the top, one of the host’s gave us some chocolate to eat and another one had hot chocolate and tea for us to drink. From the top you have a wonderful view over all the islands of Kristiansund but it was really windy there, so we had to be careful. Everything went well and after 2 hours we were back in the valley. Everyone of the group was exhausted but no one wanted to go home to sleep. It was the last day and we wanted to enjoy this evening all together. So we decided to meet again, after eating and refreshing us at home. We spent the evening in the house of a host whose guest from Spain had gone home in the morning of this day. We laughed a lot and had a wonderful night. I don’t regret one second in which I didn’t sleep. Every second in which I was awake and had the others around me was just great.

Tuesday 25.09.2012

On Tuesday it was time to fly home. In the morning at 5:00 o’clock we had to get up and make everything ready for the way home. I had slept just 3 hours and everything was so hard to do but luckily I had packed my luggage the day before. Around 5:30 we were at the airport of Kristiansund and had to say Goodbye. This was really hard after these nice days. Some of them had to cry but I could hide my sadness even when I felt like crying. We flew with the Polish and the Rumanian guys to Oslo. The only wonderful thing to leave so early was the sunrise over the clouds. In Oslo we separated and continued our journey alone after 2 hours of waiting and shopping at the airport. In Copenhagen we had to wait around 3 hours till the plane took us home to Munich. In Munich we’ve taken the train to Mering and arrived there in the evening.

In the end I want to say that it isn’t possible to describe this experience with words. I’ve learnt so much about other cultures and I had the opportunity to get to know those nice and lovely people who will always stay in my memories. Thank you for everything!
