Folketalsutviklinga er resultatet av fødselsoverskot pluss nettoflytting. Desse komponentane kan vi bryte ned for å forstå utviklinga enda betre. Fødselsoverskotet er talet på fødde eit år minus talet dødde same år. I 2018 blei det fødd 51 barn samstundes som det dødde 45 personar i befolkninga. Det gav eit fødselsoverskot på 6. I 2017 var talet på fødde 37, døde 48 og fødselsoverskotet -11. Fødselstala er låge både regionalt og nasjonalt, og det er svært få kommunar kor fødselstala er høge nok til å oppretthalde befolkningsstorleiken utan tilflytting eller innvandring. Forutan fødselsoverskotet er det innanlandskflytting og innvandring som vil avgjere om ein kommune opplev vekst eller nedgang. For fylket samla er den innanlandske nettoflyttinga negativ, med eit flyttetap på kring 1000 personar årleg i tidsperioden sida 2012. Av det flyttetapet utgjer om lag 60 prosent personar som tidligare har innvandra til fylket. Den innanlandske nettoflyttinga for kommunen var i 2018 på -56 personar. Det er lågare enn året før, med ei endring på -33 personar. Nettoinnvandringa har vore årsaken til den gode folketalsutviklinga fylket har vore gjennom det siste tiåret. Her har særleg arbeidsinnvandringa vore avgjerande. -
Pharmacists Serving Under War Conditions in Northern Norway
PHARMACISTS SERVING UNDER WAR CONDITIONS IN NORTHERN NORWAY Klevstrand, Rolf 2609 Lillehammer, Norway This is a tale of a few pharmacists in three small towns in the northernmost part of Europe during World War Two. The towns were partly destroyed by air raids. This is of course only a small part of the long tale of sufferings during the war. A map of the Northern part of Scandinavia will show the position of the area (Fig. 1). On the map the counties of Norway are marked with different colours, Finnmark, the northernmost in light blue. Fig. 1 Like the rest of Norway Finnmark was occupied by German forces in 1940. When Germany attacked the Soviet Union in June 1941, it became part of an important war zone. The next Fig 2 map (Fig. 2) shows the short distances from the towns Vardø, Vadsø, and Kirkenes to Russia. There were German garrisons in each of them, the largest one in Kirkenes which at times had ten times as many soldiers as the local population. “Festung Kirkenes” was an important supply centre for the forces at the front in northern Russia. This made it an important target for Russian bombers. The town had not less than 328 air raids during the war. Each of the towns had one pharmacy, but there was a shortage of trained pharmacists. In 1940 the government issued a decree concerning the duty to serve for medical personnel. In accordance with this, two recently graduated male pharmacists were ordered to work in the pharmacies of Kirkenes and Vadsø from the beginning of 1944. -

Fylkesmannen i Troms og Finnmark viser til nevnte plan med forlenget høringsfrist til den 20.06.19. Stortinget har bestemt at Evenes flystasjon skal ha funksjon som beredskapsbase for noen av Norges nye F-35 jagerfly. Stortinget har også bestemt at de fem nye marine overvåkingsflyene skal stasjoneres på Evenes. Forsvarsbygg er tiltakshaver og har utarbeidet en statlig reguleringsplan. Status som statlig reguleringsplan, innebærer at ingen statsetater kan reise innsigelse, men gi råd og innspill. Samordningsrutinen for regionale statsetater vil derfor ikke gjelde for denne planen. Planen er drøftet i Planforum i både Troms og Nordland, og ved to anledninger også i et felles Planforum mellom fylkene Troms og Nordland; den 14.09.17 og 20.11.18. Planforslaget er presentert på en informativ måte for berørte offentlige instanser og plandokumentene gir et godt grunnlag for å vurdere utbyggingsplanene. Fylkesmannen i Troms og Finnmark vil gi følgende innspill til det videre arbeidet med planen: Miljøhensyn: Naturmangfold, avrenning og eutrofiering Det vesentligste av planområdet ligger i Evenes kommune i Nordland fylke. Fylkesmannen i Nordland har vurdert og utredet hensyn til miljøinteresser og avgitt uttalelse i brev datert den 11.06.19. Uttalelsen om naturmangfold, avrenning og eutrofiering er representativt også for arealene og forholdene i Skånland kommune i Troms fylke. Fylkesmannen i Troms og Finnmark viser til uttalelsen fra Fylkesmannen i Nordland for fagområdene naturmangfold, avrenning og eutrofiering, og kan slutte seg til vurderingene for de nevnte fagområdene. -

In a metropolitan area of this size it is not as easy to see the results of the Norwegian immigration as in smaller towns and rural communities. But the evidence is there if you look for it. This year’s speakers will tell the story of the Norwegians who contributed to the richness of American culture through literature, art, architecture, politics, medicine and science. You may recognize a few of their names, but many are unsung heroes who quietly added strands to the fabric of America and the world. We hope to astonish you with the diversity of their talents. Our tour will take us to the first Norwegian church in America, which was moved from Muskego, Wisconsin to the grounds of Luther Seminary,. We’ll stop at Mindekirken, established in 1922 with the mission of retaining Norwegian heritage. It continues that mission today. We will also visit Norway House, the newest organization to promote Norwegian connectedness. Formålet med planen er å fortsette nødvendig masseuttak, primært for å dekke behovet for utfyllingsmasser i nærområdet Sør-Senja, bl.a. til et akvakulturanlegg på land ca. 700 m i luftlinje fra masseuttaket. Området for masseuttak foreslås utvidet fra 40,8 daa til 46,5 daa. Hele planområdet er på 69,7 daa. Kromma steinuttak skal levere masser til Jøvik industriområde, hvor det pågår planarbeid/utvidelser som også er på høring. Planen må i den grad sees i sammenheng med hverandre. New records of the rare gastropods Erato voluta and Simnia patula, and first record of Simnia hiscocki from Norway. Fauna norvegica 37: 20-24. New records of rare gastropod species are reported. A live specimen of Erato voluta (Gastropoda: Triviidae), a species considered to have a far more southern distribution, has been found from outside the Trondheimsfjord. The specimen was sampled from a gravel habitat with Modiolus shells at 49–94 m depth, and was found among compound ascidians, its typical food resource. Live specimens of Simnia patula (Caenogastropoda: Ovulidae) have during the later years repeatedly been observed on locations on the coast of central Norway, which is documented by in situ observations. In Egersund on the southwest coast of Norway a specimen of Simnia hiscocki was in March 2017 observed for the first time from Norwegian waters, a species earlier only found on the south-west coast of England. Also this was documented by pictures and in situ observations. The specimen of Simnia hiscocki was for the first time found on the octocoral Swiftia pallida. doi: 10.5324/fn.v37i0.2160. The Tschudi Group Divests Sydvaranger to Tacora Resources Inc
NEWS RELEASE ______________________________________________________________ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Tschudi Group Divests Sydvaranger to Tacora Resources Inc. OSLO, NORWAY, January 14, 2021 The Tschudi Group today announced that it has completed the sale of Sydvaranger Mining AS and its subsidiaries -Varanger, Norway, to Tacora Resources Inc -based iron ore mining and mineral processing company focused on high-grad iron ore commodities. Tacora recommenced operations after five years closure in June 2019 at the Scully Mine, a 6 million tonne per year iron ore concentrate producer, after its acquisition of the mine in 2017. Sydvaranger operated from 1910 to 1997, and then from 2009 to 2015 producing high grade iron ore concentrate, with an iron content of 68%, for pelletizing operations. The Tschudi Group, a Norwegian shipping and logistics company, has been involved with the Sydvaranger Mine since 2006. In 2016, the Tschudi Group re-acquired the Sydvaranger assets and has since focused its activities on completing a feasibility study and preparing ore concentrate has significant environmental and cost benefits for steel producers and pelletizing operations, including increased blast furnace productivity, reduced slag volumes, lower CO2 emissions per tonne of steel produced and reduced energy requirements for pelletizing, amongst others. The recent Definitive Feasibility Study confirmed a potential for a 4 million tonne pear year iron ore concentrate production. welcome Tacora as the new owners of Sydvaranger. Since 2016, the Tschudi Group has sought to provide Sydvaranger with the financial and operational capabilities to enable a restart of the mining operations. By introducing Orion Mine Finance as a financial partner in 2018 and by now combining Sydvaranger with the operationally experienced Tacora team, we believe Sydvaranger is in an excellent position to succeed with a restart. -
