WEEKLY CRIME REPORT/NEWSLETTER th WEEK COMMENCING THURSDAY 17 September 2020 ISSUE 517 PLEASE NOTE The information below is obtained from Selected Reported Crime Incidents, restricted and sanitised, taken from Crime Sheets prepared by the Police for the Torridge District and are not Official Police Figures, and only refer to crimes of Theft and Damage. Fear of crime in our area is far worse than the actual crime committed.
This Week's Crime Statistic's. After having 15 reported crimes of Theft and Criminal Damage committed in the whole of Torridge last week, this week we have 11, with crimes recorded on 7 days.

SUMMARY OF CRIME
During the last week 7 crimes were committed in the Bideford area, 1 in the Torrington Area and 3 in the
Holsworthy area. We had 3 Burglaries, 2 Vehicle Crimes, 3 of Damage and 3 of Theft.
We had 2 Dwelling Burglary, 1 Non-Dwelling Burg laries, 0 Thefts of Vehicle, 0 Theft from Vehicle,3 Theft Non-specifics, 0 Theft Pedal Cycle, 2 Damage to Vehicles, 2 Damage to Dwellings,0 Damage to Building and 1 Damage Non-specifics.
We have had 4 incidents included in the above of “Contained Domestic Incidents” and because they do not affect anyone else, under the Data Protection Ac t, this restricts us to what information we can pass on. 5 Theft Domestic Domestic Domestic Domestic Incident Non- Specific. 6 Damage Vehicle Buttgarden Bideford Vehicle parked secure and unattended To a Street CD3D has been sprayed with black spray paint Vehicle. 7 Theft Parcel Blackmore `Bideford Aggrieved had purchased item via eBay, Non- Avenue CD3E the courier had advised that the parcel Specific had been delivered & signed for howev- er the aggrieved has not signed for it and is unable to find the item. 8 Burglary Business Torrington East the Water Access was gained to a commercial Non Street CD2E Business where offenders had ground a Dwelling` padlock for the main fuel tank, no die- sel was stolen as the pumps has been switched off, but 30-40 litres of fuel was syphoned from a van which had its fuel cap unlocked 9 Theft Milk Deer Valley Holsworthy Milk has been stolen from aggrieves Non- Road CH2L doorstep Specific 10 Damage Vehicle No Street Name Littleham Vehicle was driven down a track where To a CD2G appears to be a large quantity of screws Vehicle and nails resulting in the tyres being punctured 11 Damage Domestic Domestic Domestic Domestic Incident to a Dwelling

TORRIDGE DISTRICT NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH FORUM
IN MEMORIAL OF JOHN BOWERS (WINKLEIGH)
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of John after a long illness. David and Tom along with all of you would like to pass on our deep condolences to his wife and family during this sad time.
John was a long-standing member of Torridge District Neighbourhood Watch and was an Area Co-ordinator for Winkleigh and a member of our Forum. He was well respected in the Winkleigh area for his work in keeping everyone safe. As a former teacher he gave talks at our meetings and had his own way of putting his points across. John arranged our last meeting at Winkleigh, and his wife and others took control of refreshments and it turned out a very successful evening. He was a regular attender at our Forum Meetings and was positive in his thinking. For years he was the main reason that crime in Winkleigh was kept low.
John will be sadly missed by all who spent time with him, and we would all like to wish his wife and family all the best for the future. Our prayers and thoughts will be with you.
