David & Jenny Carter Nimrod Research Docton Court 2 Myrtle Street Appledore Bideford North Devon EX39 1PH www.nimrodresearch.co.uk [email protected] GRENVILLE RESEARCH This report has been produced to accompany the Historical Research and Statement of Significance Reports into Nos. 1 to 5 Bridge Street, Bideford. It should be noted however, that the connection with the GRENVILLE family has at present only been suggested in terms of Nos. 1, 2 and 3 Bridge Street. I am indebted to Andy Powell for locating many of the reference sources referred to below, and in providing valuable historical assistance to progress this research to its conclusions. In the main Statement of Significance Report, the history of the buildings was researched as far as possible in an attempt to assess their Heritage Value, with a view to the owners making a decision on the future of these historic Bideford properties. I hope that this will be of assistance in this respect. CLAWTON CLARION April 2019 Welcome to the April 2019 edition of the Clawton Clarion. April is the month of Easter and this year it is celebrated late in the month, so here’s hoping for good weather and time with family and friends. Clawton is a vibrant and welcoming community with lots to celebrate, however I am having great difficulty in getting contributions to share in the Clawton Clarion each month. We would love to hear your good news and family announcements; as well as reports on village events. There are a couple of regular contributors, to whom I am most grateful, but this edition is rather thin! Don’t forget, the Clawton Clarion is about YOU and YOUR COMMUNITY so please send contributions for the next edition by 20th April 2019 to [email protected] or call me, Judi Graham: 01409 271265 If you would like to receive the Clarion electronically, send me your e mail address.
