Mad as hell at the politicians in Sacramento?

WRITE-IN SOCIALIST CANDIDATES FOR THE CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE

Given the rigged political system we have in the United States, it’s unlikely that popular Democrats like Lori Hancock and Nancy Skinner can be defeated. The odds favoring them are so overwhelming that Republicans don’t even bother to run. This means that write-in candidates such as Mary McIlroy and Eugene Ruyle can come in second and, under the new “Top Two” system of Prop 14, appear on the November ballot. Electing a few socialists to the State Legislature won’t solve our problems. But it will enable us to raise issues, express our disgust at the war-addicted twin parties of capitalism, and support Occupy Oakland.

WRITE-IN MARY MCILROY FOR STATE SENATE

Mary McIlroy has been active in Peace & Freedom since 1987. She is running as a write-in candidate for StAte Senate because Democrats don’t represent working class people. McIlroy favors Medicare for All health insurance, elimination of fees and tuition at community colleges and the CSU and UC systems, rolling back pay raises for administrators, and increasing funding for education at all levels, from pre-K through 12, adult education, colleges, and universities. State parks must be kept open, as these are a resource for all Californians, especially workers and their families. McIlroy calls for taxing the rich and their corporations to pay for the things we need. Protect social services such as CalWORKS, Medi-Cal, food stamps and other programs for people in need.
