The Sunday after Easter is traditionally known as ‘Low Sunday’ in the Church calendar – but ‘Low Sunday’ 2016 is the starting-point for an exciting development in the life of our churches in Bro Enlli and Bro Madryn!
On Sunday, 3rd April at 4:30pm, the first gathering of ‘Eglwys y Bont / the Bridge Church’ takes place in Abersoch. Meeting in Olgra, the Abersoch beach mission headquarters, the gathering will offer informal worship and Bible reflection, co- ordinated by the Rev’d Naomi Starkey, curate in Bro Enlli, and Helen Franklin of Bro Madryn, who works for Scripture Union.
Beginning each time with refreshments (and aiming to finish by 6pm), the worship will use a simple bilingual liturgy, as well as times of music, prayer and discussion, with an emphasis on accessibility to all ages and backgrounds, especially those who may never have tried church before.

Papers for the meeting will be available very soon in each church, along with a list of everyone who is already on the Electoral Roll (if you’re not, you need to fill out a form ASAP!).
This isn’t just for the MAC/PCC. This isn’t just for Wardens. This isn’t just for those who are really keen! This is for everyone and everyone is asked to make this meeting a priority. Our excellent magazine was brought to life with Roger Stephens Jones as the editor. That is just one of the many ways in which we miss him deeply.

Every year, a Scripture Union Beach Mission (formerly CSSM) is held in Nefyn, run by a huge team of volunteers from across the UK. This year, we are hoping to help by offering some of them accommodation for their time here. If you think that you might be able to offer a bed (no meals required) for either one or two weeks at the beginning of August, contact Richard (720707).
