Affordable Housing Operational Programme

As part of the affordable housing efforts in there is close collaboration between , Gwynedd Rural Housing Enabler, Housing Associations, organizations, private landowners and developers in order to develop a comprehensive operational programme to provide affordable housing throughout the county.

Progress to date can be divided in terms of new affordable housing units provided, as follows: Number of affordable housing units that have been completed during 2013-2014 – 70 units

The affordable housing units which have been completed since the start of Gwynedd’s Affordable Housing Project include:

Maes y Pandy site - 4 units developed by Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd on Gwynedd Council land

Bron Bethel site - 9 units developed by North Housing Association on Gwynedd Council land

Llys y Garnedd Penrhosgarnedd site – 3 affordable units (out of a total of 12) developed by a private developer

Fron Fawr Blaenau site – 5 units developed by Cymdeithas Tai Eryri St Pedr,

Maes Terfyn Morfa site – 3 affordable units (out of a total of 12) developed by a private developer

Maes Dyfi site - 6 affordable units developed by Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd on Gwynedd Council land

Bro Gwgan site - 10 units developed by Cymdeithas Tai Eryri on Gwynedd Council land

Homebuy Scheme In addition, a total of 133 properties have been purchased between 2004 and 2012 under the Homebuy scheme administered in Gwynedd by Cymdeithas Tai Eryri. In 2012/2013 9 Homebuy's had been completed and in 2013/2014 6 Homebuy's were completed.

2013-14 Efforts Gwynedd’s affordable housing partners succeeded to deliver 70 additional affordable housing units during 2013-14 and this was through various initiatives including homes through Housing Associations, Homebuy and bringing empty properties back to use. From theses 70 units, 28 were smaller properties i.e. 1 or 2 bedrooms.
