PAGE 2 Welcome to another edition of the Tresmeer Gazette, where information can transform your day and put a smile on your face, where being positive is so much better than being nega- tive and life is a choice… Welcome any new readers.

Well, what a busy month October was, so much going on. Tresmeer may be little, but when we come together we do things big! The Harvest Supper on Saturday 19th once again was a great success. Loads of food, friends, and neighbours com- ing together to talk, laugh, and wash up….brilliant. Just like a large family gathering (but without the falling out) The event raised £417.14. It was announced on the night also that the hall has been awarded £2.500 from a grant. This will go towards complete new heating and lighting system. The next project for the hall will be a new kitchen to help the hall move into the future and stand for many more years for all to enjoy.

Egloskerry Old Station B&B reopened on 30 March 2009, but this is only the latest part of the story of ‘The Egloskerry Station’. It started life in October 1892 a little overdue as the line from Launceston to Tresmeer had been opened on Thursday 28 July 1892 to coincide with the Launceston Agriculture Society’s Show. I waited all of 30 mins before the first inquisitive feathered friend came. They must have some sort of communication as it was not long before a few more came along and then more….It was like having a crèche when all the young House Sparrows all decided to have a bath, there must have been 8-10 young- sters splashing and chattering. Comical. Now I don't wear glasses often , but imagine my horror when suddenly realising I was of to the theatre to see the War Horse and no glasses to be found! This led to me having to make an appointment and new glasses produced with a few days to spare… Gosh its good to plan! Another outing not so exciting, the dentist! I am sure I am not alone with my fear of them, but some things have to be done. I can still remember taking my mum with me at 30, luckily now my dentist is patient and kind and has time to talk over treatments that leave me feeling quite relaxed, I may have to travel but it is so worth it.
