Study 4978 Cornwall OnLine Census Project, 1891 This document was supplied by the depositor and has been modified by AHDS History Introduction THIS STUDY contains our [Cornwall Online Census Project] transcript of the 1891 census returns for Cornwall. It has been transcribed, checked and validated by the volunteers of the Cornwall Online Census Project, the Cornish arm of the Free Census project. The original records are held by The National Archives and this transcription is done with their permission. Image copies of the original returns can be viewed on film, fiche or CDROM from commercial suppliers and at many research facilities around the world. This study contains a full transcription of the 1891 census returns for Cornwall—a snapshot of the people and places of Cornwall on the night of April 5th, 1891. The file names are the PRO piece number code (without punctuation). About UK Census Returns About Free Census (FreeCEN) was started early in 2000 with a pilot project for the 1891 census returns for Devon. The aim of Free Census is to transcribe all the UK 19th century census returns. It is part of FreeUKGEN and is a sister project to FreeBMD and FreeREG. The intention is that all three of the UK primary sources for the family historian will be online and “free to view.” Six months after the Devon project started, the Cornwall 1891 commenced. Most English and Welsh counties are now covered for the 1891, with the Scottish projects concentrating on the 1841. There are several English 1861 projects, using commercially produced discs and two English 1841 projects, including Cornwall.

  • Warb Nov 2020
WWARBSTOWARBSTOW && DDISTRICTISTRICT NNEWSEWS 89TH ED. NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2020 REMEMBRANCE EDITION Editorial. We, in our small piece of heaven, have a lot to be grateful for. Covid 19 has touched our village but so far without lasting effect. Long may it continue but it will only remain at arms length if we stay vigilant. I was appalled on a recent trip to the supermarket to discover people acting as if it was all over with couples going round together, people not social distancing or reaching across people to get to shelves etc. The situation in Cornwall is far from over as we are now feeling the effects of a second wave. Increased awareness in bio security must be maintained if we wish to stay safe. Marian Haynes kindly updated her home delivery information on page 18. Due to Covid 19 restrictions there will not be a Remembrance Service on Sunday 8th November. To find out our alternative suggestions please check page 20. Also due to Covid19 restrictions there is a change to the access to the Defibrillator on the front of the Community Centre. Please see page 25. Please note the next Terracycle collection details on page 27. We will be collecting for St Petrocs again this year with our Christmas Wishes magazine, details are on page 23. It would be great if we could beat last year’s sum of £215.00. Adam has written a piece on how we should all consider using less of the planets dwindling resources, details on page 29. The Parish Council minutes and Lynette’s report are on pages 4 and 10.

  • 19 September 2019 Item 22 – Community Governance Review
Full Council – 19 September 2019 Item 22 – Community Governance Review – Update on Stage 2 Stage 2 of the Community Governance Review process has commenced and involves Cornwall Council agreeing draft recommendations for public consultations. This stage is currently envisaged to conclude in December 2019, with a public consultation taking place between then and March 2020. In terms of Bodmin Town Council and the Bodmin Community Network Area, there were no submissions by town and parishes in this Network Area calling for changes. ➢ Blisland – no submission received; ➢ Bodmin – no submission received; ➢ Cardinham – no submission received; ➢ Helland – no submission received; ➢ Lanhydrock Parish Council – no change submission received but sets out its strong sense of its own identity; ➢ Lanivet – no submission received; ➢ Withiel – no change submission received but set out Withiel did not see the need for a governance review at this time and confirmed their position as qualifying as a parish council without the need to be amalgamated. Lanhydrock Parish Council submitted a more detailed response compared to others in its call for no change and outlined its strong and deep sense of its own identity requesting that the traditional governance arrangements remain unchanged. Parish and Town Councils where changes have been requested or are being put forward as options have been asked to make responses to Cornwall Council by 4 October 2019 via the [email protected] e-mail address. Summaries of all submissions across the county have been broken down into packs for each Community Network Area and are published on the Cornwall Council website. The Electoral Review Panel will be holding 10 public engagement meetings across Cornwall in September and early October 2019 to hear views about these submissions, particularly where boundary or significant change is proposed.
