Since the declaration of a state of emergency in threee states in northern (Adamawa, Borno and Yobe) in May 2013, Niger is facing unprecedented humanitarian challenges in the region of Diffa which hosts thousands of Nigerian refugees, Nigerien returnees and Third Country Nationals. In addition, attacks by armed groups on the territory of Niger in February and June 2015 have resulted in internal displacements. Most of them are people who fled insecurity in Nigeria and internally displaced persons in situation of vulnerability putting pressure on the resources of the host communities.
