Dear Parents

Following the announcement by Kirsty Williams, Education Minister for Wales yesterday, I wanted to reassure you that we will follow the guidance published next week carefully and are working very closely with the Local Authority to ensure to ensure the upmost safety for our pupil and staff when we reopen.

As you will be aware each school will be open for 1/3 of pupils at a time. We do not know how this is going to work at the moment and how many days per week this would mean that your child will be able to attend school. Ms Kirsty Williams expressed that it is a parental choice if you want to send your children back to school before September. If you choose not to, then we fully understand and support your decision and our teachers will carry on supporting your child as much as they can with their continued learning from home.

The safety measures that we will be putting in place during this next 3 weeks will make our schools look very different from what they were. I will write in more detail nearer the time to make you all aware of the safety measures that we are taking to ensure that everyone is kept as safe as possible. It will obviously be much easier to keep pupils in Key Stage 2 meters apart throughout the day although keeping pupils in the Foundation Phase 2 meters apart is going to be more challenging as I am sure you will agree.

As we need to plan for the reopening of our schools we would like to have an estimated number of pupils who are likely or not likely to return before the end of the Summer term.
