Dr Norman Ernest Borlaug - Inspiring Youth

• Born on , 1914 in Cresco, , to Henry and Clara Borlaug • Known as a champion of high-yield crop varieties and agricultural innovations to help fight in developing nations • 1970: recipient of the • 1977: Recipient of Presidential Medal of Freedom • 1987: Borlaug created the World Prize with John Ruan, which recognized the work of scientists and humanitarians who have helped fight world hunger through advanced agriculture • 2006: Recipient of Congressional Gold Medal • 1994: Global Youth Institute initiated by John Ruan and Dr. • Passed away at the age of 95 in 2009.
