Weekly Contribution—FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020 Lord God, We thank you for all the blessings St. Ambrose has received. You have helped us to restore and renew our Parish Family. We come to you now to ask you to help us pray together and work together for the continued success of our parish. May our efforts be to the glory of your Holy name. ‘We ask this through Jesus our Lord’. Amen.

BOTH PARISHES TAKE NOTE

Last weekend was our first weekend to have Mass back inside the church and Communion outside. Overall it went very smoothly except for the technical difficulties at St. Pat’s before Mass. In keeping with the 6’ social distancing, at St. Ambrose we have space to seat 50 people inside the church and at St. Pat’s we have space to seat about 60 people upstairs and another 60 downstairs. Fr Charles will continue to broadcast the Mass on FM 104.1 as well as video taping the Mass. We will also continue handing out tickets for those who choose to come inside the church as this helps us know the correct count for those inside. Starting this weekend, June 13-14 we will have the 5 pm Sat. Mass and 8 am Sun Mass at St. Ambrose and until further notice will NOT have the 11 am Mass. At St. Pat’s in order to allow more time for Fr. Charles between Masses, we will temporarily move the 9:30 Mass to 10 am Sun.

Due to COVID-19, Benet House Retreat Center will remain closed through Septem- ber. We have developed several virtual retreats to provide spiritual and prayerful oppor- tunities during this difficult time. These virtual sessions are held via Zoom or Cisco WebEx. Once registered, you will receive a link to join the retreat and access to materials. For more information you may call Sr. Jackie Walsh at 309-283-2108 or check out the website www.smmsisters.org/retreats/retreats-and-programs

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, After a long renovation project, the Milan Christian Food Pantry is now operating in our new location. We are extremely excited to be in a “new” facility with extended square footage. Because we have more space, we added one new and several slightly used appliances. We now have 10 freezers and four refrigerators. This will allow us to handle more produce and buy more frozen meat when a sale is available. Because we now have quite a bit of investment in appliances, we decided it was prudent to purchase a generator to preserve our investment in frozen and refrigerated items in case of an extended power outage. The generator required to handle our needs is reasonably expen- sive - $8000.00. We still have some money in our renovation budget to pay for this expense. But if anyone would like to donate to help with this expense, the Pantry would be most appreciative. Donations can be mailed to Milan Christian Food Pantry, PO Box 333, Milan, IL 61264. Thanks for your support in volunteer hours, cash, and prayers. St Patrick Parish Information Weekly Contribution—FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020 St. Patrick – Let’s Welcome Our Newest Additions! You can be forgiven for not recognizing this picture of St. Patrick’s. A few weeks ago, you would have had a hard time seeing the windows as they were well blocked by bushes. The beard- Sunday Collection...... 2,167.00 tongue in the lower corner is flowering right now. Stay tuned Religious Education...... 75.00 for the great blue lobelia over in the left circle. They will Food Pantry...... 40.00 sure appreciate a little “TLC” which means watering at this point. Just to the left of the entrance are five butterfly weed plants. They could have an uphill battle they like well- drained soil, but we will take a chance. Watch this space – once they get those roots established, there will be a lot more color on the grounds. Still a lot of work ahead to get the river rock area under control, so if you can lend a hand

Ice Cream Social.... It was decided by the Finance Committee that it will be CANCELLED this year due to the continued precautions still in place due to Covid-19. When we get back to “normal” we will consider our options for a fundraising event or two since we also missed out on our Irish Feast. If you have any thoughts or suggestions for fund raising events, please call the office and let Marietta know.

What can we, as lay parishioners, do to advance the pro-life mes- sage? We can support pro-life po- sitions, especially regarding abor- tion, in our everyday contacts. We can be knowledgeable about what positions our lawmakers take. And we can communicate to those law- makers our reactions to those positions, both positive and negative.
