HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter! Or as most other languages prefer: Blessed Pasch—Passover! Pasqua, Pascua, Páscoa, Pâques! Israel’s Passover through the Red Sea to the Promised Land! Jesus’ Passover through the Cross to resurrection! Our catechumens’ Passover last night, and ours once upon a time, through Baptism’s waters to our family’s Eucharist! Welcome, everybody! As someone once said of the Catholic Church, “Here comes everybody!” So in this Jubilee of Mercy, we make our own Saint ’s Easter welcome from fourteen hundred years ago: “Let everyone enjoy this radiant feast! You who fasted from ’s beginning, and you who didn’t fast at all, rejoice! The table’s richly set! Come, take from it, everybody, no worries, no embarrassment! All of you, taste the banquet of faith! Enjoy the feast of forgiveness! Let no one grieve for having sinned again and again: pardon has risen from the tomb!” Happy Easter! Blessed Pasch! Welcome, everybody! —Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

CHRIST THE KING RETREAT In this during which the Gospel of St. Luke is proclaimed, we journey with Jesus as He goes up to Jerusalem. There He will give of His life revealing to us what it means to be faithful disciples. Jerusalem is deeply symbolic of “going home” to God – a journey we are invited to do in every moment of our lives. We pray in the Jerusalem of our hearts, we worship in the Temple of our souls, and we journey to God in our care for one another and all the World. This Retreat invites us to walk anew, as if for the first time, in the footsteps of Jesus. The annual parish retreat at Christ the King Retreat Center is April 26-28 for St Patrick’s women and April 5-7 for St Patrick’s men. Flyers are in the bulletin board in the vestibule.

CLOTHES CLOSET NEWS We appreciate all the donations you kindly provide to the Clothes Closet. Our ministry would not be possible without you help and your donations. At this time, we are in need of blankets, men’s jeans and men's T-shirts. Thank you in advance for your help with this request.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

Everyone,

Today is Easter Sunday. Enjoy our Pancake Breakfast with your family and fellow parishioners – then enjoy watching your children enjoy our annual Easter Egg hunt at 11:15 a.m. in Gurnell Hall. If you are lucky, your child may even share his/her “find” with you!

Also remember to get your tickets for next Saturday’s Dinner Theater, featuring St. Patrick’s Children’s Choir.

From my Knights to Christ booklet: “When people give you the opportunity to help them, they give you the opportunity to be like God. And for that we should give them thanks.” (Ensworth Reisner)

Thank you,

Marty Soth, Grand Knight
