Silver Dollar City / Theme Standards

1. Comply with each property’s costume standards for your respective work area to enhance theme standards. 2. Maintain appropriate levels of personal hygiene, cleanliness, and appearance. Hair must be natural, clean, and well-groomed. No faddish or extreme hairstyles. 3. Wear only issued by or approved by the costume shop. Personal costumes must be approved each year by a costume shop employee. 4. Any alterations or accessories to your costume must be pre-approved by the costume shop. 5. Ladies’ must reach the ankle bone unless approved by the costume shop. are to be worn at the waist. 6. Only one ring per hand - a wedding ring set is considered one ring. 7. Pocket , brooches, or necklaces may be worn if they are period style. Wristwatches are not in theme. 8. Earrings are for the ladies only. No plastic or other modern style earrings – including hoops or long dangling earrings. Only one earring per ear worn at the lower lobe. Other body piercings must be covered by the costume. No tongue, lip, nose, brow, or facial piercings. 9. Necklaces on men must be concealed by the costume. Long sleeve only, with shirts buttoned up. No button-down collars on shirts. 10. Employees wearing costumes and/or (whether on and/or off company property), are prohibited from wearing any non-SDC ornamentation such as buttons and/or insignias. 11. Wear or dark – no modern shoes, clogs, or open toes / backs. Brand names must be blacked out. Wear long black or . 12. Natural or subdued pink nail polish may be worn by the ladies. Nails must be trimmed and neat. No polish may be worn when working with food. Hair covering is to be worn when working with food. This includes all food shops and merchandise shops that serve food. 13. Must be in full costume when in the view of guests. Costumes being carried must be concealed from view. 14. , , , and are supplied by the costume shop. Your own may be worn after approval from the costume shop. 15. All tattoos must be concealed by the costume. 16. Nametags are to be worn on the left chest area. Nametags with your “role name” must be preapproved and nametags will be worn until the special name tag arrives. 17. Use clay, metal, or glass mugs rather than paper cups. Approved plastic mugs only! 18. Do not eat in the view of guests while in costume and performing job duties. 19. Keep modern conveniences such as cell phones, ink pens, radios, backpacks, purses, briefcases, plastic bags, and lunch coolers out of the view of guests. 20. Do not smoke, chew or have tobacco products in the view of guests. 21. Use of 1880’s conversation is in order inside Silver Dollar City. Use modern day language only when it is to the benefit of the guests. 22. Cell phones should not be used while in costume/. Personal cell phone use is permitted during your break in non-work areas.

White Water Costume Standards

1. Maintain appropriate levels of personal hygiene, cleanliness, and appearance. Hair must be natural, clean, and well-groomed. No faddish, extreme hairstyles or colors. 2. Wear only uniforms issued by White Water management. 3. Any alterations to uniform must be pre-approved management. 4. Ladies’ must reach at minimum 3” below the cheek. 5. Jewelry should be kept to a minimum, including ear rings. 6. Earrings should be conservative and no large, stretch or gouging type earrings are allowed. Other body piercings must be covered by the uniform.. No tongue, lip, nose, brow, or facial piercings. 7. Employees wearing uniforms, (whether on and/or off company property), are prohibited from wearing any non-White Water ornamentation such as buttons and/or insignias. 8. Wear comfortable tennis that is non-skid in nature. 9. Natural or subdued pink nail polish may be worn by the ladies. Nails must be trimmed and neat. No polish may be worn when working with food. Hair covering is to be worn when working with food. This includes all food shops and merchandise shops that serve food. 10. Must be in full uniform when in the view of guests. 11. Your own may be worn after approval from your supervisor. 12. All tattoos must be approved by General Manager or Operations manager. 13. Nametags are to be worn on the left chest area or on a lanyard for lifeguards. 14. Do not eat in the view of guests while in uniform or performing job duties. 15. Do not smoke, chew or have tobacco products in the view of guests. Smoking is permitted in employee smoking areas only. 16. Cell phones should not be used while in uniform and should be kept in your locker or purse. Personal cell phone use is permitted during your break in non-work areas only.
