SPUUF Campout July with the Seitz Family at Service Creek

Pictures by June Clapp, Hannah Berkowitz & Virginia Seitz

One of my favorite memories of the campout is the gatherings at Shady Grove, the name I gave my campsite. Friends drifted in under the tree by my tent, and we sat around, talking, laughing, and enjoying an occasional breeze. - Marty Wallauer

Another favorite moment came when adorable Anthony, 7, and Alex, 5, the Seitz grandchildren, visited my camp by themselves. We discussed "" and "Harry Potter" at length. Their dad is reading the books to them. Anthony said things like. “Actually, I know how Harry got his scar.” Here they were talking to an octogenarian; there wasn't an iPhone game in sight... - Marty Wallauer

Night time at camp: After it got dark, we took our chairs outside and watched Red Mars rising. One night, after most campers had gone to bed, I looked up and saw amazing stars and constellations I hadn't seen for years. We were off the grid; there was no light pollution. When I got in my tent, the almost full Moon shone directly through the screen above my cot....a beautiful way to go to sleep. - Marty Wallauer

Croquet Tournament & Potluck, bring a dish to pass, lawn chairs & your killer instincts. Potluck will be after the qualifying rounds and before the finals. Sunday, September 9, 2:30pm @ Clackamas Community College

Ripcord by David Lindsay-Abaire. Much like his other comedies (Fuddy Meers and Good People) Lindsay- Abaire introduces audiences to characters that are unforgettable. On an upper floor of prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn. Abby has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper Marilyn by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the two women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one- upmanship. At the Osterman Theatre inside the Niemeyer Center. on the campus of Clackamas Community College. Contact Marty Wallauer if you are interested in going.
