CHILDREN’S & FAMILY SERVICE PROJECT 2021 HELPING THE HOMELESS

HOMEWARD is an organization that serves people in Richmond who are in danger of homelessness, home- less already, or sleeping on the street. Every night there are about 100 people staying in the Safety Net Shelter and they need a lot of resources to provide for them.

We are asking our families and children to share the love of Jesus with the homeless by providing care packs for them. God calls us to share our time, treasure, and talent with others and this project shows the children that we sacrifice some things we would like so that others can feel safe and loved.

Care Packs are simply bags filled with items most needed by the shelter. Prayerfully consider how many packs your family can donate. Perhaps your child could even earn the money to fill a bag. Take your child/children with you when you shop for the items and definitely let them help fill the bags. Consider adding a colorful picture from your child in each pack.

A Care Pack includes (full size products are preferable but they will gratefully accept travel size): Soap Deodorant Toothpaste and toothbrush Shampoo & conditioner Comb or hair brush Lotion Sanitizing wipes (if you can find them) Hand warmers

Other items that you can add to the packs or send in separately: Dental floss Chap stick Razors & shaving cream Feminine hygiene items Cold weather supplies: Gloves, hats, scarves Socks Underwear Rain ponchos

CARE PACKS CAN BE TURNED IN FEB 14-23 at the Church office, RE classes or in the box marked HOMEWARD in the Church entrance. 5 de april de 2020
