Stewardship Reflections: Live gratefully, give generously.

“Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and

PROJECT ADVANCE to God the things that are God’s.” - Matthew 22:21

Everything we are and everything we have belongs to God.

Diocesan Goal: $8,500.00 We aren’t “owners” of anything, we are merely “stewards” of

the gifts God has given each of us. All God is asking is that Parish Goal:

we give back a portion of what He gave us. This is the

essence of Stewardship. God should be our first priority in

everything. All else comes second, especially our money. To date, we have received

Thanks to all who have contributed. October 2020

You may drop off your donation in the collection basket or The Laity’s Mission in the Church come to the parish office during office hours. To donate online please visit www.rcav.org/giving We pray that by the virtue of baptism, the laity, especially women, may participate more in areas of responsibility in the Church.

Welcome back! We missed you. Due to the on-going pandemic, however, the masses will be offered in a carefully controlled manner. Parishioners will not be able to drop into mass whenever they wish but only when they are scheduled. All mass attenders must register at the office 604-936-1311 Archbishop Miller recently issued guidelines for the re-opening of parish liturgies. Here are the key points: * Parishioners do not have an obligation to attend Sunday mass as the archbishop has exempted the faithful from this. * Those who are sick must not attend mass and those who are elderly or infirm may also decide it is wisest to stay home. * A maximum of 50 parishioners * Social distancing of two meters must be maintained at all times except between members of the same household. * The church must be thoroughly disinfected after each liturgy.

In this online presentation, Father John Horgan will present the lives of three very unusual saintly men recognized as “Blesseds” in the month of October by the . Who were they and what did they do? What was the witness to Christ that they have left behind? Can they speak to me in the midst of a global pandemic? What is their meaning for my life?

Father Horgan will also give some insight on the process of , including explanations on how the Church recognizes new saints, how many kinds of saints there are, the marks of holiness, and the role of . He will also discuss relics and incorrupt saints.
