Helping farmers reach new heights
Olam’s agronomists are working with over 200 farmers in Indonesia to help reduce the application of chemical inputs on coffee farms. Most recently, this has involved the provision of mechanical mowers to give farmers an efficient way of managing weeds on their farms that doesn’t involve applying herbicides. Farmers are also trained on organic practices including improving soil fertility with organic compost. To help with this, Olam has donated goats as livestock to farmers, which they can sell the off-spring from to generate additional income. Harvest & shipping
