The exchange between ICG&JCG started in 2000 with M/V Alondra Rainbow incident as a trigger, that was hijacked after departure for Japan from Indonesia in Oct 1999. In Nov 1999, the ship was captured by Indian Coast Guard. M/V AR is Panama- flagged cargo vessel, 7,762GT, operated by Chennai, India Specification of Settsu Japanese company, about 7,000-ton aluminum ingots loaded. All crew including 26-31 Jan Gross tonnage: 3,111tons 2 Japanese were safely rescued in Thai Length overall: 105m, breadth: 15m waters. Equipment: 35mm machine gun (1), 2.
