Belgian Integrated Info for Secure Societies calls

The Integrated Police is ’s . It is technically two public bodies, as the Integrated Police is a two-tiered organization :

 The carries out judicial police and administrative police missions in specialized fields or when the phenomena go beyond the local level. It also carries out support missions of an operational, administrative or logistical nature. In this perspective, it is made up of directorates, units and services which are very diverse. The federal police is also responsible for providing a wide range of support, operational or not, to local police forces. Finally, it represents the Belgian police services in the framework of international police cooperation ;  The Local Police (divided into 185 police zones) carry out specialized police missions in their zones and support federal police forces within their jurisdiction. They are mainly focused on neighborhood work, reception, intervention, police assistance to victims, local search, policing and road safety.

Moreover, the Belgian Integrated Police has been involved and active in many European projects since 2010, both as coordinator and partner, and is interested in taking part in R&D projects related to security. It is thus an experienced partner that can rely on its involvement with former and ongoing H2020 projects.

Potential role within “Secure Societies” proposals

As a law enforcement agency operating in Belgium, the Belgian police may contribute to projects in two different ways. On one hand, by using our expertise in law enforcement to help accurately define the standards and (logistical, technical, operational, legal,…) requirements the proposed innovative solution will have to meet. On the other hand, by being able to test the solution on the field and adjust it accordingly as end-users.
