I am writing to inform you that I have written to Local Authorities, notifying them of the outcome of their Existing Routes Map submission.

Several Local Authorities paid due regard to the statutory Design and Delivery Guidance documents and submitted a satisfactory Existing Routes Map in line with their duties under the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013.

Three Local Authorities did not submit data for all the settlements in their area and I have issued a direction for them to resubmit a complete Existing Routes Map.

The Existing Routes Map for the remaining authorities contained routes that were unsuitable as active travel routes at this point in time, so I have issued a direction to these, giving them the opportunity to remove the unsuitable routes or to provide further justification for why these routes have been included.

A full list of Local Authority Existing Routes Map status is attached as Annex A.
