Category Description/value Current stage of project The project is under construction. Construction of the northern extension of Line 14 (Saint-Lazare to Mairie de Saint Ouen) began in August 2014, and is expected to be completed by 2017.

Bidding for the southern section of Line 15, spanning 33 km (underground), is expected to start in the second quarter of 2015 and continue until the second quarter of 2016.

Line 15 will be constructed in phases, and the southern section will be divided into eight main works contracts. Contracts will be awarded for stations, tunnel and associated works. Studies/planning/civil works/construction Arcadis NV has secured the EUR40-million contract to provide project and programme management as well as technical advisory services over 16 years. Elizabeth & Christian de Portzamparc has secured the contract to design the Le Bourget station on Line 16 Miralles Tagliabue and Bordas + Peiro won the contract for designing the Clichy-Montfermeil station on Line 16 The Bouygues Travaux Publics-led consortium, comprising Soletanche Bachy France, Soletanche Bachy Tunnels and CSM Bessac, secured the EUR165-million contract to construct the 5.8-km northern extension of Line 14. Fare system type Contactless smart cards called Navigo passes and t+ paper tickets, currently used on the Paris Metro/RER, are expected to be deployed. Fare system integration Yes (integrated within Île-de-France) Rolling stock Fully automated, driverless trains will be deployed. The trains will run at an average speed of 60 km/hr, nearly double that of the Paris Metro.

An investment of EUR5.5 billion has been earmarked for the procurement of rolling stock. Tenders are yet to be awarded.
