• According to the specific timing and the projects currently underway, TEAM Engineering would be pleased to offer stages / internships in support of current projects in the following possible sectors:

 Railway Alignment  Feasibility Studies & Master Plans  Traffic analysis/modelling  Design Vetting Process (EPC Contract)  Stations Functional Layout

• TEAM has signed an agreement with CIFI to develop training programs for Clients and institutions and is willing to consolidate relationships with university bodies TEAM’s INTERNSHIPS PROPOSAL

1. Railway Alignment: Choice of the optimal route and design of the alignment with its relations with physical and hydraulic constraints and interferences, selection of design parameters, choice of typical structures and their optimal intersection with relation to the vertical profile of the line using the dedicated software (for instance Civil 3D). 2. Feasibility Studies & Master Plans: assessment of new proposed railways within or outside the provision of national Master Plans. Numerous examples in the Sub- Saharan African Context. 3. Traffic analysis/modelling : traffic Survey, criteria for identification of the Origin/Destination zones, Traffic flow analysis of existing and forecast of future scenarios using traffic model. TEAM’s INTERNSHIPS PROPOSAL 4. Design Vetting (EPC Contracts): verification and check of Contractors’ design through the issue of Technical Comments. Verification of full adoption of the agreed design criteria , Verification of correct dimensioning according to calculations and Verification of the best technical solutions for each Project item.

5. Stations functional layout: identification of all functions and optimal distribution and intercommunications between them, routes, entrances and exits in relation to safety aspects (fire and other risks). Linearity and mechanization of access, egress and escape routes. Respect of most used International standards with particular regard to suitable facilities for the disabled persons, besides other environmental aspects. Particular focus on underground metro stations. INTERNSHIPS PROPOSAL FEASIBILITY STUDY

CORRIDOR APPROVAL CRITERIA Criteria used to define the corridor and railway Alignment 1. Criteria used to define the corridor and the best choice of railway track.  Geographic Constrains 2. Design parameters used to study the Railway  Orographic Constrains Track Corridor  Naturalistic and Environmental 3. Analysis and Definition of Area of Interest and Constrains definition of Design Corridors  Avoid or minimize use of the 4. Comparison between Proposed Corridors  Maintain alignment grade less of 20 ‰ 5. Traffic Analysis/Modelling  To analyze any other possible options in 6. Multi Criteria Analysis(MCA) on the Proposed order to define the best choice of Corridor Solutions 7. Alignment Design railway alignment INTERNSHIPS PROPOSAL Traffic Analysis & Modelling  The Traffic Survey consists of the following 2 main activities:  Traffic Counts  Interviews with the vehicle drivers and with railway and road passengers in railway stations;  Setting-up of traffic model and calibration on existing situation:  Zoning with identification of homogeneous traffic origin destination area to model the transport demand with definition of O/D matrix  Forecast of the Future Scenarios traffic flows will be follow these factors:  Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth indicator  Demographic growth  Decrease/increase of Transport costs  Specific Investments (i.e. for mining)  Using Traffic Simulation Software (i.e. TransCAD) to evaluate the future traffic flows in the future scenarios “do nothing” and “with project scenarios” INTERNSHIPS PROPOSAL
