Wherever possible we buy our ingredients from local farmers and growers. We don’t buy out of season and our menus change regularly to make the most of the fresh crop, local specialities. Our meat is all free range and comes from local farms & butchers. Pork comes from David at Downland farm produce where he rears animals in a natural environment. The pigs live happily in natural surroundings all year round. The farm is based on the Wiltshire College Lackham campus, with the butchery being in Melksham. Our other butchers are Walter Rose, Devizes. All our meat is traceable to individual animals. Our fish comes from British waters supplied by Samways, a family business based in Swanage, who are committed to a 24-hour port to plate policy. Free-range eggs come from happy in Norton St. Philip. Dry goods from Ashton Farms, Semington. Our cheeses come from the surrounding area. All our bread, cakes and biscuits are baked daily on the premises; gluten free alternatives are available on request. Jams, chutneys, and are made freshly in our kitchens; we churn our own ice cream using Blackmore Vale milk & cream.
