Celebrating Creativity

We want to celebrate creativity by displaying your work online and so encourage everyone to be creative. It is open to all who live in our community or have a significant connection to it because they have grown up here. Our community includes Braunton and its surrounding areas : Marwood, Ashford, , Chivenor, Wrafton, , , , Mortehoe, Croyde, Saunton, Georgeham, Mortehoe and

How to take part:

• From time to time we will issue a Challenge on a theme • You will be able to submit any type of creative work ( unless the challenge is limited to a particular medium ) to express that theme: o visual artwork e.g. painting, drawing, printmaking, computor aided design, textiles, photography, sculpture, video art, collage, short films o written and spoken work e.g. poems, short essays not more than 500 words, presentations o music of all genres e.g. voice to percussion, jazz to soul, street to polyphony • There are limits on size and these are set out below • It must be your work • We will select as many as we reasonably can for display on our website or social media and we may do so for a limited period of time in order to show more • We expect at some point to hold a physical exhibition in the village so please keep the work you create safe. Please do not feel that your work has less value if it is not selected. • We know that you will understand that we cannot accept anything that is not suitable for a family environment, that is offensive and, because we are Rotary we leave political and religious beliefs at the door. It must comply with Coronavirus guidelines. • To enter you will need to send us your work using the online entry form. There are important Terms and Conditions you should read and don't forget the restrictions on size. • Rotary's theme for this year is 'Rotary Opens Opportunities' and for some of our challenges we will be offering Opportunities or competition prizes.

Details of Size

o If artwork we need a photo in a .jpg/.jpeg format no larger than 5mb in size o If a video, please send us a screenshot ( .jpg/.jpeg no larger than 5mb ) and e-mail a small version of the video ( no larger than 5mb ) to [email protected] with your full name or you could host your video on a video hosting platform and share a link with us o If music send to [email protected] o If written work please send us a .pdf to [email protected] o You may find transferring files using www.wetransfer.com a easy way to send your works

Your entry will be viewed on a screen or may be heard on a speaker so make sure it shows your work at its best in that medium.

Important Permissions

You must have the permission of any person identified in your work and where a minor or vulnerable person is involved a parent/carer/guardian must have given consent on their behalf. We will publish only the first name of the entrant unless you wish otherwise. Please be careful not unwittingly to identify any minor e.g. by showing a club logo. It may sometimes be appropriate to have permission in respect of the location, in which case you should also supply the consent of the location owner.
