Shirley Bailey: I have a new Great Granddaughter! Nori Grace arrived Feb. 10 at 3:42 pm. 6lbs 7.1oz, 20 1/4 inches.

Carol Nielsen: My daughter, Katrina, and her family are moving from Syracuse, New York to Portland, Oregon this summer! David, Katrina's husband accepted a job and will be working remotely until the move. Marlene Turner: We stayed with my daughter April and their family in Sunriver. Aviana with her snowman after 4 inches of new snow. Beautiful home over here.

Jean Payne: My daughter, Candy & I were finally able to have a Luncheon/Tea after several years. Our theme was February/Valentines. We enjoyed Tomato-Basil Soup; Salmon, Avocado, Cream Cheese finger sandwiches; egg & cheese salad finger sandwiches; Cherry White Chocolate Scones with Cherry Icing; Dark Chocolate Cherry Brownies with Cherry Icing; Cherry Tea and to finish it up a Lindt Strawberry Truffle.

Candy Watson: With the help of my family, I had a Celebration of Life for Mike on Feb. 16; his 67th birthday. I was able to set up a Zoom with Mike’s daughter Kim & her family & we invited 2 very close friends to join us. Dad made a fire in the outdoor pit (Mike really liked campfires) & we all sat around the fire on a balmy evening & shared stories. We served cake after.

Jill Arnold: Birthday Celebration: My two sons came over Sunday afternoon and brought Mod pizza with cauliflower crust and strawberry-rhubarb pie. (You could not tell that crust from traditional pizza crust.) They got me a new Acer laptop computer.

Loretta Tucker: I have been out of power so much due to high windstorms with heavy rain, landslides, flooding, roads out, downed trees, ice, snow, I had a chat with God about it all. I was born a farmer, agriculture, floriculture, and horticulture are my passion. Well, after the wildfires of September, I had a chuckle with God, bowing my head and tipping my hat to Him, the all-time Master Gardener. Nobody landscapes or prunes like the Good Lord!

Retta’s Valentine Love Story

It is storming outside, high winds, tapioca snow with ice pellets first, now sideways snow and 17 degrees. With the damage to the canyon and the forests, this will all mean more flooding, falling trees, landslides with erosion. But all is not lost, for we are a tough breed living in these mountains, we have Faith and Hope. Proof of the is the artificial Christmas trees still in windows, shining bright from within and outdoor Christmas lights still on every night in homes in the canyon’s little towns. The bright light and colors of HOPE that we are repairing and healing. I have strung little red and white lights in my window, decorated my house full of love throughout, and hung new red/white outdoor lights. Lights and bright colors are uplifting of the spirit, a visual proof of HOPE. The cellphone towers that burnt down for hundreds of miles with the wildfires are nearly all back up, internet has joined us too. We say Hi! And I love you to our surviving neighbors and friends each time we meet, because we are so grateful to still have each other. We will miss the ones we lost for the rest of our lives. “Love each other as I have loved you.” Amen Blessings sisters, I love you, grateful to be here to share that fact with you all.
