’s Journey Into Politics

Hitler was born in Braunau am on the AustrianGerman border on 20th April 1889.

Hitler was said to be very intelligent as a child , but did not pay attention in school because he was bored by the teachings. Hitler’s father was said to be cold and strict but his mother was a caring parent. In 1903 Adolf’s father passed away relieving the stress of him to get a job and giving him extra time to practice his art.Just 4 short years later his mother died, once his mother died he traveled to to get into the Academy of Fine Arts but was not accepted. In 1914

Hitler was turned down by the Austrian army , so he went to the German army at the start of the first world war. In the final weeks of war Hitler was injured and while in the hospital he had heard that had surrendered, hearing this news he became angry at the politicians.

Despite his poverty he became active in politics.

In 1919 Hitler joined the German Workers’ Party because he believed many things that they believed. Some of the beliefs of the party were that the individual citizen did not matter. The only thing that mattered was the government. He thought that the country would be strong if the women were educated and became housewives and the men would be educated and become workers. No school was mixed gender. All school lessons were based off of the party’s beliefs. In 1920 he helped redefine the party and changed its name to the National Socialist German

Workers’ Party (Nazi). In 1921 he became the leader of the party and created a secretive army called the Brownshirts so that their meetings were not interrupted. In 1923 he attempted to overthrow the German government that he believed was corrupt and unfit to lead the country. His attempts failed and he was put on trial where he expressed his ideas to gain followers. Hitler only served 9 months out of a 5 year sentence, in this time Hitler wrote ( My struggle) which outlined his political ideas for Germany . He used lots of propaganda to gain support and eventually became the leader of Germany in 1933 and ruled it as a dictatorship. In 1939

Germany invaded Poland causing Britain and France to declare war on the Axis powers. During

World War 2 he established concentration camps where he imprisoned jews and other groups that he believed a threat to the Aryan supremacy. This resulted in more than the 6 million estimated deaths.

Before Hitler was captured by the Allies after World War 2 him and his wife killed themselves, while the exact story is not determined. This is the most generally accepted idea.

Many people believe him to be a coward. Some conspiracy theorists believe that he actually escaped but it does not really matter anymore because more than likely he is dead.
