Aneka produk budaya telah dilahirkan di suku bangsa Dayak. Salahsatu produk budaya Dayak adalah senjata tradisional yang diberi nama Mandau. Mandau pada dasarnya dibuat untuk digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, namun disamping itu ada juga yang dibuat khusus untuk digunakan dalam upacara ritual. As it serves different purposes such as slashing, splitting, cutting and hewing, golok has slightly different shapes. In some regions in Indonesia, a golok is even considered as a representation of regional identity. Thus, golok is still made and used up to now. Golok Walahir originated from Walahir village in Sindangkerta, Tasikmalaya Regency. Unlike golok originated from other areas that are still produced and become regional icon, golok Walahir is no longer made due to the absence of its blacksmith. A number of efforts must be done to preserve golok Walahir, such as by studying the possibility of remaking the golok and blacksmith generation that will preserve the golok Walahir as an iconic identity of Sindangkerta from generation to generation. Steps taken in the study were identifying the golok Walahir shapes available at present, classifying them, and making replicas of each shape. The study focused on shapes, materials and production process.     DIGITAL PUPPETRY OF WAYANG KULIT KELANTAN: A STUDY OF ITS VISUAL AESTHETICS KHOR KHENG KIA THESIS SUBMITTED IN FULFILMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY CULTURAL CENTRE UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA KUALA LUMPUR 2014 ABSTRACT Wayang kulit Kelantan, a form of traditional shadow puppet theatre in Malaysia, is threatened with imminent extinction yet no significant attempts were made to preserve this cultural heritage. It is clear that with the current situation in Malaysia and the level of official support, wayang kulit Kelantan is unlikely to last long. Several researchers have suggested that traditional wayang kulit Kelantan to be digitalised into digital media so that it could be watched on the media screen in order to provide greater accessibility and flexibility. The digital puppetry of traditional wayang kulit Kelantan is very helpful in promoting this art form and also indirectly by preserving it via alternative media. This study aims to examine the possibilities and probe potentials of using Computer Graphics (CG) and modern technology to preserve the visual aesthetics of traditional wayang kulit Kelantan. The coverage of the study consists of three major aspects, namely: (i) the visual aesthetics of traditional wayang kulit Kelantan, (ii) Computer Graphics (CG)/ motion capture and (iii) digital puppetry. This study provides in-depth information and explanations on two major aspects. The first aspect is the identification and description of the facets of the visual aesthetics of traditional wayang kulit Kelantan; emphasizing its principal puppet designs and shadow images. The second aspect is the use of modern technology and CG to capture these facets into digital media.

This paper analyzes the osteology of these skulls in terms of demographics, preservation condition, taphonomy, pathology, and post-mortem modifications. It then contextualizes the osteology of this collection in terms of the history and ethnography of Dayak ‘trophy skull’ modifications, and how such remains were modified for intended export and sale as part of the global human remains trade. In light of our osteological study, we find that peri- or post-mortem taphonomic modifications, and evidence of pathology and trauma are all relatively minimal. The diverse engraved motifs and other decorations found on these remains are not consistent with the historic Dayak ‘trophy skull’ trade.

Peribahasa Menurut Za'ba, peribahasa ialah susunan kata yang pendek dengan makna yang luas, mengandungi kebenaran, sedap didengar dan bijak perkataannya. Keindahan peribahasa merupakan cara sesuatu peribahasa itu digunakan, yang membina minda. Tetapi pada masa kini, pelbagai Peribahasa tradisi merujuk kepada peribahasa yang digunakan dalam pertuturan sehari-harian atau secara bercetak sebelum tarikh kemerdekaan. Peribahasa moden pula merujuk yang dicipta selepas tarikh tersebut. Peribahasa merupakan sabahagian daripada bahasa kiasan dalam budaya Melayu .
