Proclamation

WHEREAS, Dale Cottrill, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA), is retiring on May 31, 2020 after a successful career which included leading the Authority’s finance team; and

WHEREAS, Dale has served for more than three decades as a CPA with experience in all phases of governmental and not-for-profit accounting and auditing; he has been the CFO for the ACAA for more than three years, shepherding over a wide range of issues and state-of-the-art projects including the Terminal Modernization Program, Neighborhood 91 Innovation Campus and Cargo Expansion among others; he is leaving the ACAA, Pittsburgh International Airport and Allegheny County Airport positioned for financial stability and cost-competitiveness in the airport transportation industry; and

WHEREAS, active in professional organizations and as a community leader, Dale was the principal speaker, as a veteran, in opening the Pittsburgh International Airport’s Military Comfort Room; he is also a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Associates of School Business Officials; in 2018, he was named CFO of the Year by the Pittsburgh Business Times; and

WHEREAS, for his invaluable service to the Allegheny County Airport Authority, and his contributions both professionally and civically to this community, we congratulate and wish Dale health, happiness, and all the best as he begins to enjoy the fruits of a well-deserved retirement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, by virtue of the authority vested in me, do hereby proclaim May 31, 2020 as “Dale Cottrill Day” in Allegheny County.
