Communal violence, destruction and looting in southern Kyrgyzstan during June 2010 led to the death of over 400 people and the injury of another 2,000, the destruction of close to 2,000 homes, the looting of many more, and the forced displacement of 375,000 people, of whom 75,000 fled to , while 300,000 were displaced within Kyrgyzstan.
