A BRIEF GUIDE TO PUBLIC TICKETS ON THE HELSINKI REGION (HSL)

First of all: Single tickets are not sold on and commuter trains.

You can buy single tickets for one-off journeys - from various kiosks (for example R-Kioski) and shops, - from ticket machines and - using the HSL app. Read more https://www.hsl.fi/en/app

Single ticket Card Single ticket Travel Card is sold for Single ticket and a ticket machine. This instance from R-Kioski ticket is not valid for Park & Ride facility

Advance purchased single tickets (2.80 euros, AB zone) loaded on a disposable Travel Cards are available from kiosks and other HSL sales points. These are valid from the time you activate them at a card reader in a train, , or .

Single tickets purchased from ticket machines (2.80 euros, AB zone) are valid immediately. At the ticket machines, you can pay using coins or debit or with chip. Some ticket machines accept notes.

Only on you can buy single ticket from the driver, but the ticket is more expensive (4 euros, AB zone) . Drivers don't accept notes larger than 20 euros. Debit and credit cards are not accepted on buses.

HOW TO GET TO THE QUARANTINE AT KAISANIEMI SCHOOL USING PARK & RIDE AND METRO OR COMMUTER TRAINS

The most suitable Park & Ride facilities are along the metro line: URHEILUPUISTO and TAPIOLA and along commuter train line LEPPÄVAARA. The maximum parking time at most sites is 12 or 24 hours.

You must have an advance purchased single ticket Travel Card. Otherwise you can't use Park & Ride. You can't buy this ticket from Ticket Machine. Please note that also mobile tickets purchased on the HSL app are not valid for Park & Ride.

At parking facilities available for a fee, you need first 1) validate your ticket at a card reader and then 2) pay the parking fee at a parking ticket machine by cash or by credit card. In some facilities, you can only pay by cash.

 Show your Travel Card to the card reader. You must have valid value ticket on the card.  Take your parking ticket. You might need the parking ticket to enter the floor on which the Park & Ride is located.  Please follow the signs and instructions.  Place your parking ticket inside your windscreen for the duration of parking, if instructed to do so.  When leaving, insert your parking ticket into the payment machine and pay your parking. Use the ticket you get from the machine to exit the car park

ALTERNATIVE WAY USING ESPOO STATION COMMUTER PARK & RIDE AND CONTINUE BY COMMUTER TRAIN

Espoo Station commuter Park & Ride facilities are free. You only need to buy a single ticket (ABC zone) either in advance from kiosk (for example R-Kioski) or from ticket machine on the station platform. However, because commuter parking is free, usually there are no free or only very limited free spaces after morning commuter traffic. So you must be prepared to find a free parking space somewhere else in the surroundings of the station. Sometimes it may be difficult...
