Greetings Camp Agape ,

After much prayer and consideration, the leadership team of Camp Agape has made the difficult and heart wrenching decision to not bring campers to physical Summer Camp, due to the current coronavirus situation. Just like you, this is not how we expected to be celebrating our 20th season of camp. However, the medical risk and our ability to protect our campers, their and our volunteers is simply far too great. Even with all the proper screening, we cannot ensure the coronavirus won’t come to camp, too. Therefore, we feel it is in the safest interest of everyone to not host camp in 2020.

However, we have some good news! As we explore unique and creative ways to advance our mission of sharing God’s unconditional with hurting hearts, we are committed to finding new ways to support our campers during this difficult and uncertain time. Because our campers are #1 in everything we do, we are excited to bring Camp Agape to YOU. We are creating a brand new, virtual and experiential minicamp, featuring six of our most popular summer activities, as well as new resources for our families! After the summer, we hope you and your children can join us for our annual Family Camp. This special event will be held at Camp Buckner which is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. More details will follow, but please Save this Date on your calendar NOW: November 13 – 15, 2020!

We are eager for our campers to know the love of Christ. These are hard times for all of us. Instead of choosing fear, anxiety, or worry, we are encouraging our Camp Agape family to stand firm on the spiritual foundations which we know to be true: God is in control. God is good. God has a plan. While we don’t understand what He’s doing or how He will use this situation yet, we are confident that He’s got this! Please know that we are continually praying for the healing and recovery of those affected by the coronavirus, wisdom for our leaders to make the best decisions, and protection for all of us, as we rest in the hope and glory that God has us in His Hand…no matter what!

Finally, we are committed to exploring better ways to support our campers during this difficult and uncertain time. Please watch our website (CampAgapeTexas.org) in the weeks to come for more helpful resources and new family activities we will be rolling out.

Stay safe, be well and enjoy this extra cozy time with your beautiful families. Together, with God’s love, grace and mercy, we will get through this.

Blessings of Love and Peace,

Your Camp Agape Leadership and ministry Team
